QPR boss explains how Hoops can turn draws into wins next season 10:34, 11 Jul 2016 Updated 10:34, 11 Jul 2016 By Tom Moore Rangers head coach insists 1-0 won't do it - and demands side steps up their game and claim all three points rather than the disappointment of just one please log in to view this image More please: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wants QPR to go for the throat next season - rather than sit back and hope. The frustrated head coach endured a record 18 draws for his side last season, and he thinks he knows the reason why Rather than hang on to a slender lead, Hasselbaink wants Rs to push for a second when leading 1-0 by a goal to nil, rather than timidly trying to hold on to what they had. The last draw against Reading below is typical of a Rangers lead that petered out to just a point. Dominant He said: “We want to be more dominant. We want to keep on improving. We don't settle for what has gone before. “We want to be more dominant. We want to control the game more. We've got things we're going to work on and improve. “At times when we were 1-0 up we were a little bit timid instead of going for 2-0. Those kind of things I want to see us improve on by keeping the ball more and controlling the game. “Most importantly, you can't be happy with what you have achieved. You always want to achieve more.” Promotion is the stated goal in the QPR squad but Hasselbaink moved to try and provide a reality check going into a difficult Championship season. He added: “Of course we want to get promoted but there are several things that have to happen first. “Let's get the platform and the organisation right and let's be competitive. Let's be good as a team. “That's what we're going to work for first. It's a long time – 46 games. Let's start with number one and the outcome is what we want.”
So, this is the incredible insight into how Hoops can turn draws into wins next season ... ... score more goals. NSS
Absolutely...the man is a genius... My suggestions...is to take a leaf from the old training manual called I believe "Vindaloo".... So my plan would be - "to score one more than you" That might also take a 20 goal a season striker and a couple of 10 goal a season midfielders plus Grant Hall
It makes no difference if we lose 3-1 or 3-2 except goal difference, which is very important- wow these universes - I went right round like a modern day QPR hoop, who's our manager, what's at right back, Dr Who's our manager?
Better not be playing some stupid formation like 4-5-1 or 4-4-2! 4-3-3 is the only answer, the only way! So you better get players who can do that !
