QPR boss Chris Ramsey wades into Nigel Pearson 'ostrich' row QPR boss Chris Ramsey claims he wouldn't copy Leicester manager Nigel Pearson's style of calling a journalist an 'ostrich'. By Charles Perrin Charles Perrin PUBLISHED: 10:07, Thu, Apr 30, 2015 | UPDATED: 10:34, Thu, Apr 30, 2015 Pearson got rather hot under the collar when fielding questions from Express Sport journalist Ian Baker in the wake of his side's 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea last night. The Foxes boss accused the reporter of being an 'ostrich' and 'burying his head in the sand' in his post-match press conference after a simple question about perceived criticism of his players. Though Ramsey attended the game, he claims he only learned of the bizarre exchange this morning. please log in to view this image Don't give me a reason to do it! Ramsey's side travel to Liverpool on Saturday (3pm) in what will be a must-win match in their battle to beat the drop.
I don't understand what this is about. Pearson called someone an ostrich and Ramsey says that he wouldn't call someone a pelican? I fear that Mrs Nines may have slipped some acid into my cheese and vegetable frittata last night.
I have to say I thought Pearson came across quite badly. I get the impression he's a bit of a nutter.
4 wins in a row entitles one to a little rant now and again, our Chris wouldn't know that of course...
Pearson has form for losing his rag - this is the third PR disaster this season. The reporter asked a reasonable question and it looks like Pearson decided to create a diversion to avoid answering it. he comes across as a man with a very, very large ego, but sadly not as a very clever one, either that or the pressure is getting to him and causing to act erratically.
Interesting to see there views. From a Leicester fan I think he should avoid these situations as journelists play off this stuff yet they do also get exaggerated. Then again, when he was reported to be sacked, despite our bad run it felt somewhat gut wrenching as he has taken up from our lowest point in our history to on the way back up and if we can complete the great escape that'll be a great achievement. He's definitely a guy who those on the outside take a dislike to but internally he's very well liked. It'd be good if he could dial it down a bit but at least he's showing character
I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question and Pearson came across as an extremely unpleasant character. Lengthily and repeatedly. It's not the first time he has taken on a journalist for no apparent reason. I'm glad he's not our manager. A PR disaster.
Part of the job talking to parasites and I like the fact that any manager should take on these scum bags … they know what they are doing when they place questions Most of them write ****e which we all can do … I am probably the worse but they get paid for it … **** them because if you ever look at transcripts against what is actually printed then there is usually a clear difference . **** them all **** the Queen also **** the election and the drivel produced by a lost ****ing nation. Look how they try and draw Ramsey but he is too cool like the django unchained of managers to get caught by the worse people in the UK … these people are responsible for the culture slip and sickness of today's UK society and they are ruining the game It's accepted now that people talk about work as if the job has been done … **** all of the UK corporate culture … Nearly there flight out tomorrow at 3 I cannot stay more than 3 weeks anymore. Good on you Nigel … go a step further get up and punch them all out
100%. He was calling the reporter stupid (on multiple occasions) yet could not find the correct words himself. It was a perfectly reasonable question and Pearson just chose to vent the spleen of frustration he felt at the defeat (which we can all relate to) in a particularly stupid and unjustified way. Gone at the end of the season either way I should think.
What a ludicrous headline that is! They just happened to ask Ramsey about it on Talksport and he said virtually nothing and was certainly careful not to voice anything controversial. Blimey, no wonder people have a go at journalists if this is the sort of headline they get from that exchange. Pathetic.
