Queens Park Rangers have made the opening move to sign Wayne Bridge on loan but are facing competition from Wolves for the Manchester City misfit.

Sportsmail revealed QPR's interest in Bridge on Saturday, after it emerged that the former England left back is free to leave the Etihad Stadium.

They have been given permission to discuss a short-term deal, and co-owner Tony Fernandes has called Bridge's representative in a bid to get the deal finalised.

The 31-year old has been earmarked to replace Armand Traore, who is about to join up with Senegal's Africa Cup of Nations squad.
But Wolves have now entered the race after registering their interest with Bridge's adviser Aaron Lincoln. Wages of £95,000 a week could still be the stumbling block for both clubs.

If we do sign Bridge, it will be interesting to know what wages he earns. I reckon he will need to drop to £40 k a week to get a contract (wonder how he wll struggle on THAT weekly wage)

Another player who has shown zero interest or commitment for the past couple of years. I also question his ability after festering around City / Rubber Mallets.

    Its a no from me

    Oh yes....£95k a week? Madness

Does anyone remember him playing at West Ham last year? It's a no for me.

Interesting news hot from my 'Sauce'.

Word is we have tabled bids for 3 centre halves and a left back. Looking at a striker too but focus is on defence.

Don't ask for names as he won't tell me as it would be compromising and I respect that.

    My 'sauce' is impeccable though

Ninj my sauce is as good as getting it directly from the horses mouth.

I can't comment on the rumour that Hulse has gone in straight swap for Kaka though....

Coldharbour - He will never gives names as it would be obvious that it came through him. He did say that NW is trying v hard to get the signings in place asap but tabling that many bids was to keep the options open.

Sorry I can't offer more than that but my sauce is well connected and I believe him. I'm just pleased that some of the rumours about Swiss Tony cutting funding seems to be a load of rubbish and that we're focusing on defenders, we ship far too many goals at present and can hardly name a settled back 4

NW said at today's press conference that he was never in Manchester to meet Onouhu: having his teeth done instead!
