Did anybody watch this on TV last night? I thought it was great viewing and to me showed a side of football we dont Get to see very often, flavio briatore came across as a knob telling his managers what to do though i had to laugh when he Made the substitution that won them the game, theres hope for us all!! Alot of the managers came across as a bit thick TBH .sousa see ed to be non phased by flavio though and dropped the club right in the **** at a press conference just to Get his own back on the flav!! Some of the comments from the board included" why the **** Are we only playing 1 striker..at home!" heard that before! Anyone see the show?
Yes i watched it all that Pallidini was a righty numpty just another money making toy to them i felt didnt have a clue about football in general and the way they spoke about the managers & players was laughable, i wonder if HJ & co are the same
The italian lot were quite a disrespectful group of people, the indian guys seemed like genuine football guys, I cant stand Neil w'nock but he come across quite well, made me laugh when he came in to meet the players and the captain shoke his hand, neil quipped" you ve shaken alot of hands lately havent you" RE all the sacked managers that been there, broke the ice straight away fair play to him
Just watched it. Really really interesting to see inside QPR's situation. The Indians really did come across with great charm, business sense, and football knowledge. I loved the bit when, at the start of the promotion season, Adit Mittal stated to Paladini that this season, they was not going to be any screaming at the players (Paladini had just thrown a hissy fit after Helgusson had missed a sitter). They went on to win the game anyway. The Italians, on the other hand, were more like your classic millionaires. Not happy unless every game was won comfortably. Without the Indians in there, Warnock would probably not have seen the end of last season. Even with QPR only requiring 1 more point, Flavio Briatore was cursing Neil Warnock from the stands making scandalous claims that Warnock "does not want to win the match", after conceding a late equaliser against Bristol City. Unbelievable behaviour, and only the steady influence of the Adit Mittal kept the QPR ship sailing. You could see the bond that Adit made with the players as he high fived them and exchanged congratulations on the pitch at the end of the season. The documentary definitely gave the impression that he was the real 'chairman' as far as the players were concerned. As it stands, QPR are probably better off now than they were last season. However, they are going to have to work very hard to stay up this season. I don't know how this Tony Fernandez is running the club, but one thing's for sure, he can't possibly do a worse job than Flavio Briatore. Every manager they employed was an 'idiot' according to him!
Very true, a rich persons play thing for the italian lot, intresting show, im sure our club is run a little bit differently, at least i hope so !!
I wonder if Jenkins addresses Rodgers in a similar way to Briatore and Sousa. please log in to view this image
i tried to start some discussion on the cardiff board about this but no replies so far.. seeing as i'm on the swansea board.. it must have been amusing for you to see sousa saying 'i want loyalty from you, loyalty is very important to me', when he left you after a year for presumably more money.. ****ing hypocrite.. as for briatore etc.. scary how little they know about football.. no doubt similar things are happening at clubs like blackburn, leicester, newcastle etc..
Not sure about that Swamp. I think the departure was engineered by Jenkins and the Board who, whilst being chuffed at our highest position in 23 years were not best pleased with the way we achieved that (bore-fest football) and the fact that on the run in when the playoffs were there for the taking we put in some very limp performances (Ashton Gate springs to mind when Sousa, as he always did, went all defensive). So I believe it ended up being a 'mutual' departure in the end. Others may know better, I don't know.
What a brilliant program. Briatore came across as a bit of a knob but he's obviously a very good business man but just didn't understand football isn't like any other business. The Indians were a credit to themselves and seemed to do a great job running the club. I felt a bit sorry for Paldini. He seemed to be under Briatore's thumb a bit and I think reacted the way he did because that's what Briatore expected from him. I must admit I had a bit of empathy towards him when he burst into tears learning that he hadn't cost the club points. Having watched the program and seen what the fans have had to endure for four years I hope they can stay up now that Briatore has left.
Yea fantastic documentary...recommend everyone to watch it. Good insight into behind the scenes. The Indians seemed like classy guys. Get them down to Swansea
I agree it was really intresting and quite funny to see the way they treat each other from the top down, and they made sousa look a bit of a fool to say the least. But i noticed Berny Eccleston is no fool he kept out of it mostly. They really do all live on a different planet to us fans !!
Sousa didn't want loyal , he wanted submissive .... big difference . I'll never forgive him for having a push at Monk when Monk was going to shake the Ref's hand !!
