In response to Judo's video posting, how about this gem from 1967? Seems it was the b-side, and it could possibly be the best football song ever or the oddest. I heard it once years ago, and thought I'd imagined it, so had a look round and found it. Any of you older posters recall it? I'm too young to remember it, but I do like that late 60s psych rock sound. What do you think?
Lol, My Dad gave me two MP3's, one of which is this and another with Alec Stock singing on part of it. This reminds me of very early Pink Floyd. I anyone wants the MP3's then please PM me and Ill forward them over to you asap.
Yep, as I say it sounds just like very early Pink Floyd when Syd Barrett was in charge of the song writing!
I was not taking the p**s about Alec Stock, he is not on this track or whatever you would care to call it, this I think was the B-side to the QPR 1967 cup final tune apparently! My old man is adamant that Alec Stock sings on the chorus of the A-Side.
Does any of the older lads recall this? If you think it sounds a racket now, must've sounded even worse then!
Must admit Tooting that the first time I've heard it and hopefully the last, consign it to Room 101...... Mind I do like the picture that was posted on You Tube with Stan yelling in Malcolm MacDonalds' face after scoring a last minute winner at SJP in our near title winning season.....this was after MMD slated the R's and Stan in particular prior to the game.....
Sadly I have this 'commemorative' release on 7" vinyl. For you younger persons this is not ipod compatible. It has 'QPR - We're the Greatest' on side A and 'Supporters Support Us' on the flip side. Its framed (how sad) and fixed to the back of the downstairs loo door with a framed copy of the London Evening Standard front page celebrating our best (and only) cup victory. As I say to the wife, its the little things in life that matter...
