QPR âto bid for Birmingham keeperâ as Kenny is again linked with Leeds 25/05/2012 by Matt Barrett QPR plan to offer Birmingham City £6m for goalkeeper Jack Butland â possibly paving the way for Paddy Kenny to join Neil Warnock at Leeds United, the Daily Mail say. Kenny has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road since former Râs boss Warnock took over as Leeds manager. It is claimed Rangers are to make a bid for England Under-21 international Butland, who has been watched by Manchester United. Meanwhile, there is more speculation about Joey Bartonâs future following the FAâs decision to ban him for 12 matches for his violent outburst against Manchester United. The Daily Mirror say it would cost Rangers £10m to get rid of him. Other papers, including The Sun, suggest it would cost £11m. The Daily Star claim QPR have lined up Tottenhamâs Jermaine Jenas as a £4m signing to replace Barton and are also looking to sign keeper Ben Foster from Birmingham.
I doubt it would be £6 million, we could offer him 1st team PL football which would be more in his long-term interest...
Does anyone think Butland and Given would be a great move , a real statement of intent. A couple of years of Given with an obviously talented back up with a view to moving the guy into the first team in due course. Cerney obviously staying as back up for one more season and Kenny off to Leeds. Gets the thumbs up from me.
butland has just been called up to the England squad as john ruddy broke a finger in training and is now out. that might add a few more £££ to the asking price.
This is such a non-story from that **** of a rag. Butland is a great prospect but not ready to start for a PL team.
