    Good morning,

Does anyone know at what point does antepost price turn to Early Price (EP)?

Very important from a betting point of view because most bookmakers antepost do not return your stake if the horse is non runner.

I believe its at 48 hour declarations. The key is to check the terms and conditions of the bookmaker you are using.

Also add in NRNB Antepost and it all becomes even more complicated.

When does an ante post market become an ordinary (early price) market?

Simples: When the bookmaker changes the terms and conditions.

If you go to your bookmaker and they are advertising “non runner no bet”, that is not ante post and your bet may be subject to Rule 4 deductions if horses are withdrawn.

For example, if Canford Cliffs had been pulled yesterday and you had a bet on Goldikova at 13/8 on Monday non runner no bet, you would have been stung with a big Rule 4 deduction on 5/4 Canford Cliffs.

If you had backed Frankel at 9/2 for the Derby on the morning of 30th April before his Guineas romp that would have been ante post and you would have lost your money when he did not show up at Epsom.
