Are you happy with the club? Do you have opinions/questions to ask the board? This is your opportunity! If you think everything is fine or think "It'll be ok" that's great, no worries. But if you are worried/concerned - Come to the Mem next Monday...... ........ Your Club, BRFC Future, Your Say Register here: http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/fans-forum-july-21-1696242.aspx A reminder of what Bristol Rovers mean to so many............ ROVERS THEN, ROVERS NOW, ROVERS FOREVER!!!!
It's not too late to register. I applied on the morning of the 7th and heard nothing. I e-mailed again just yesterday and heard today that I had a place. Don't let the passage of time and the approach of a new season deaden how you felt after the Mansfield game. Nothing has changed!
Just to let everyone know that ITV will be there on the night and so will Bristol Post. They will be getting supporters thoughts on the outcome of the meeting. I sincerely hope that we can fill those 150 spaces on the night. It will look pretty poor if we don't considering the numbers on all forums who have been complaining/criticising the club in recent weeks since relegation. I personally, would like to appeal to all of you who have supported us at the meetings or on the forums PLEASE join us ! UTG ! Mark
i have spoken to a few gasheads who i go games with and they said they dont see the point in going. only because they know they will end up getting more frustrated and feeling more angry because no matter what some board members will say, so the way they see it nothing will change so whats the point. they also think they will only end up getting banned from the stadium like a certain person! i personally would like to go but evenings are just not convenient due to personal circumstances at home.
How sad if people fear being banned ! No-one should have to fear anything WE are all supporters - and the family of Gasheads will no doubt dwindle even more now that we are in The C..........., so such actions by the club would be bananas !!
Just realised that precise venue for the event hasn't been announced yet ! Nice to know that the Board are enthusiastic about it ! perhaps we can have it on the pitch and rather than have a heated debate we could have a kick around with Nick and other board members LOL !
Another really good article by Richard Latham in today's Bristol Sunday Independent (£1!) across six columns on page 16. He details the fans' main concerns and how the board must be open and honest at tomorrow's meeting.
Tweet about tonights meeting.... "Fans coming to tonight's Fans Forum meeting are being asked to arrive around 6.45pm, so the Q&A can begin promptly at 7pm."
* Director Ken Masters is explaining how things will work tonight * Questions have been grouped into categories which include the running of the club/financial, the football, communications & the UWE stadium. * The first category up will be the running of the club/financial. * The next topic is changes at Board level * A question is asked about 'passive directors' and their role on the board. * NH: We have been seeking for the past three or four years to bring in new directors to take the club forward and share the load. * NH: I have met a number of people and it hasn't happened. I would happily meet with anyone who can bring new skill sets to the Board. * NH: We are looking for someone with IT skills to join the Board. * NH: There have been no changes at the top, but at the moment there are not any alternatives. We have to find replacements. * NH: We have to move forward and try and get some fresh blood at this club. * NH: It is likely there will be changes on the Board during the season. more to come as and when they come
* NH: We have a manager now who is very experienced at this level, and we have every confidence in him. * NH: We have to win back the hearts and minds of the supporters
* Tony Watola: The directors act as bankers to the football club, and along the way a number of directors have converted loans into shares.
* NH: The new stadium will be 100% owned by BRFC. * We now move on to questions about the footballing side * NH: It was John Ward's decision to move upstairs
* Chris Jelf: We have a manager now who is very positive, and all of the players are in support of him and want to play for him.
* CJ: I am genuinely excited, there is a buzz around training. Anyone who went to Cheltenham saw an energised side
