I have it on good authority that it wont be points, but it will be monetary and wose if it continues. People will not learn and if it takes arrest, banning and imprisonment to stop it then im all for it. They are illegal for a reason.

Personally I like smoke bombs going off, of course flares are a different thing - a fashion disaster from the 70's!

Just the FA getting all precious as usual - thay should focus on getting the carp national team in shape and finding enough English players to go to Brazil.

It is easy to sort out the fans who light pyrotechnics . Just ban them from going to grounds
Any talk of losing points is crazy

You have to catch them at it first - or are you saying ban all fans from going?

Exactly BB - they cannot be banned until they're caught in the act. It's like saying nobody should be allowed to leave their houses in order to prevent assualts and murders.

Anyone who lets off a flare in a football stadium is not a true supporter of their club - they're bloody idiots who are jeopardising the club's future and tarnishing their reputation. We've long been regarded as one of the best behaved sets of fans in the country - long may that continue.

Cannot believe they can't be caught. When Joey Barton had a bottle thrown at him against Burnley, the culprit was caught. Catch 'em and and ban 'em.

Many years ago someone threw a bottle from the now deceased East Stand. People sitting around the culprit moved away and left him sitting alone. PC Plod moved in and took him away, and everyone returned to their seats. Didn't need CCTV in those days.

Surely it is the Italian fans that are bringing them to the games?

Yeah, points wont be lost, but tens of thousands of pounds will be lost in fins and other sanctions.

Hear hear!! The club have issued a plea yet these so called fans continue to ignore them!

The trouble is they are cowards and as soon as its lit they throw it as far away as they can. So unless you see them do it you dont stand a chance amongst thousands of fans

Dan, if someone among a thousand people as there were today, sets fire to something, you will have your attention drawn to it unless they are behind you. There would have to be at least 10% of people in the immediate area who watched what was happening. How many of them pointed the finger? They are just as much cowards if they don't point out the culprit.

    Comment from twatter.

"Suffer from the smoke, then get out of the way." Words to that effect anyway. No further comment!

They are all cowards as they probably deliberately hide the guy as he sets it off. They are always from the 200 or so that stand at the back of the crowd so its impossible for the fans to see.

There are some morons! I am against them whilst they are illegal and used dangerously and I will not stop following Watford fc because a minority of idiots.

I think it is bad news, we need more flair on the pitch, not, unfortunately in the stand(s).

I see a yellow flare was set off yesterday. I wonder what sanctions will be applied?
