reports he is off to Palace for £12 M. He has been poor in a lot of games and at fault for a lot of goals. But he is one of the creative players, one of very few.
Gutted if this is true. He would have ripped the Championship apart. If we have sold to a relegation rival, then that shows we are preparing for the Championship. It is strange after they have just signed Schlupp for about 12m
If 'reports' are to be believed then we'd have a squad of 250. I'll wait and see but for the record I wouldn't want to sell him.
Why it's bound to happen man, let's get away from the sinking ship, it is there plain to see at least last seasons players had the bottle to stop we need Cattermole back In there a real man who would fight for the cause not these weaklings. Anyhow I would want Zaha coming our way as well if true. Palace are still going down with us anyway hehe.
I've just read it. Palace missed out on Jenkinson so have moved for Van Aanholt. Different positions the useless ****s.
PvA is having a rough time but his reaction to that useless Man U reject the other day shows he has heart. He's not a good defender, or even a defender so I'd argue that DM should be looking at someone who can be put in that role and moving PvA further up the park AND getting shot of Janusthingy. He should not under any circumstances sell him to a club that's very close to us in the relegation battle. Strategic suicide!
As the season has worn on I could see DJilibodji taking over at LB and VA slipping into LM, the weakness there would be PvA's non-awareness to track back to shore up defence.
Weakness would also be that Papy would get rinsed by any winger with pace. He'd also offer hardly any thread going forward. He could fill in for a game or so, agreed, but I don't think it could work long term. Would prefer it if we just got a new LB if PVA is to move forward - though that's not going to happen either IMO.
I'd take PVA over Papy all day long. I just do not rate him, he is slow, mistake prone and simply not premier league standard. PVA might not be the best left back in the world, but he good at getting forward and with the support of a good left back, he would do a great job.
Top scoring "defender" in the league last calendar year He looks far better when we have players who can slot back into there when he wanders off downfield - that's what Sam had at his displosal - 3 players all capable of slotting in at full-back when the defenders went forward. Moyes has none. No way would I sell PVA to one of our fellow strugglers. Would be business and football suicide. He's a decent player - never been a great defender but he's a modern full back. £12m is nothing compared to some of the fees being payed for pretty average championship players
PVA would benefit from a back three, as Alonso is at Chelsea, all we need is their back three and we would be fine.
imo you do not sell a left back and a regular goalscorer - but this is Sunderland so it's probably true and we'll have a RB as a makeshift LB - not good if this happens but not unexpected - s i c k as a c h i p but still KTF
