Right, I want to put some of the rumours that have popped up to bed. Done! Finished! Dead! Buried!!!

    1. Manuel did not go AWOL!
Manuel did not go awol from training as has been suggested! He was suffering from what I understand to be a stomach virus which was making him very ill and sick. As a result he was given time off to recover and therefore did not attend training until Wednesday last week. He has been there since but only participating in light training and was left out of the Burnley squad as a precaution, as with any other injury! He travelled with the squad last night and sat with Abdi, Angella and Ikpeazu in the crowd.
    2. There was no bust up!
There has been no bust up between any players, some might be frustrated, but thats it. There is no fighting, but as Zola admits, its a bit of a crisis.
    3. Deeney has a foot injury!
Deeney has a foot injury and left the ground on Saturday on crutches and had pain killing injections to play last night. He is having it looked at today!

Thats the end of the matter on those, we dont need people spreading unfounded crap and rumour! That is what causes problems and disharmony.

< ok> You seem very certain?

I also think problems and disharmony are also caused by spectators at the ground... and that I am told was very negative at the Vic on the w/e

I think it would help if the club explained what was wrong with Manuel. We know if a player gets a groin strain so why not tell us the cause of his illness if its not too personal.

Personally I think Manuel is a great goalie for us when you think of some of the saves he has pulled of and we have a great understudy in Bond waiting to take over.

    Thanks BHD

I am very cartain. I saw him at training on monday and the security guy on the gate (who I trust 1000%) had seen him thurs and fri.

It was very negative, but I feel a lot of it was fair weather fans, and just an outpouring of emotion, a couple of good results will change it all.

For the first 60mins we were completely behind the team and were singing happy songs. But after that we started some ironic chants such as we're gunna shoot in a minute and we're just to good for you. But it was more to relieve stress and to brighten the mood, there was no malice in it. We were too busy laughing.

Just where do rumours start? Almunia was seen driving away from the ground when he didn't come out for the second half. The fact that he might have wished to get home to the comfort of his bathroom was not considered. No, he had had a bust up and had gone off in a huff. McEachran was also reported to be ill, maybe the same thing, yet no one questions if he has had a bust up. We only know very little about what goes on in the club apart from match day and what the club chooses to tell us. It could well be argued that a bit more from the CEO would help, but when GFZ says that a player is sick and people come up with rumours that he is not, they are saying that Zola is lying.

Although I think that Almunia will be back before long, I believe that in Bond we have a very capable back up. The comments about his game last night were all good.

The rumour that I reported was doing the rounds on a WFC Facebook page - the bust up referred to supposedly happened on the training ground during that week, not during the match. But that doesn't give it any more credence of course.

Josh said that he was unwell last week and both he and his GF had been tweeting about it, its possible they had the same thing. But he has recovered now too, yet i see he isnt in the squad! Why hasnt he had a bust up and never wants to play again? People just like stiring the pot. Im just lucky that I am trusted enough to speak to the players as I do and to see them.

As for Bond, I have no doubt that in 2/3 years he will be a capable keeper. Learning from Alec Chamberlain and Almunia will do wonders for his development. He just needs to work on his confidence in the air and his decision making, he still flaps at crosses and corners but his shot stopping is fair and he is brave considering previous injuries.

There is more focus on Manu as he's our captain and is in a specialist position, whereas Josh is an on-loan midfielder.

I do agree with Scullion's point about info from the club - "illness" is too generic for my liking and it is too easy to read that there might be something else behind it.

There's trouble in the dressing room has been for a few weeks , if there men of the world then have a straightener and sort it once and for all, I'm more than happy to see the kid Bond in goal , highly rated by the England coaches so let's get him in and get the bad egg out the nest , that should bring the others on line ,

Whilst it would be nice to be better informed, there is surely a privacy issue here. In any other walk of life, requests for such information would be quite rightly denied, unless the person in question was willing to release it. As much as footballers may be viewed as 'public property', I personally don't see that that precludes them from the right to privacy - fine if they wish to reveal all details publicly, but equally fine if they don't in my book.

I'd be quite happy with something like flu, virus or bug instead of just illness, nothing more specific than that.
