Jack Butland has decided not to speak to Man City, and apparently turned down Chelsea, as he does not feel he will get to play first team football.
Stoke seem to be the front runners at present, but how refreshing if he's putting his playing first team football ahead of who'll pay the biggest salary!

Very sensible. I mean if he goes to Chelsea or City he'd be on the bench for years, whereas if he climbs the ranks playing football, much bigger paydays await because he'll go somewhere as a number 1.

Having said that, I really don't rate him as a keeper at all!

Speaking of keepers, Paul Robinson off to West Ham, Steve Henderson going the other way, the offer from Stoke is £4m for Butland, a very good offer imo

Is it the Paul Robinson, or the defender of the same name that's moving?

Paul Robinson is the original palmy palmerson!!! Hate it. Catch the bloody ball and stop pushing it into the path of onrushing players.

Davide De Gea, and the media's attempts to back-track on the issue to please Fergie is hilarious. I'm sorry Sir Alex, but you're the only idiot if you think the overgrown chipmunk has any potential whatsoever. He's hopeless!

I'm not actually sure they need a manager at the moment... Just play Van Persie and 10 others and go read 50 Shades in a closet somewhere...

Although, I might just be in revolution mode because DT has made us watch Les Miserables about 15 times in the last 48 hours :emoticon-0119-puke:

Why do clubs do this? What's in it for them? They have to pay extra wages to a club, and in this case to a club in serious financial trouble! If they waited til summer he'd be almost free!!!

Ironically, he'll be second choice at Stoke behind Begovic <laugh>

    <laugh>That's what I was thinking.

If he is worth £4m, what price would you realistically put on Krul? I think we let Forster go too cheaply.

I agree- though Forster can't be developing his game much in Scotland!

Good to see a young player loo to play rather than take megabucks to sit on his backside!

Always thought Forster was a good keeper, as you say it's just a pity we already had Krul between the posts.

Alnwick was a good young keeper too, just came along at the wrong time.

Good for Forster. We have Krul who's a great shot-stopper , so no big deal for us, except that we gave up an England international for 2m.

Yes, we certainly let a good one slip through the net.

I wonder if we have a move on condition in the transfer where we get a percentage of any profit made on his sale.

It's good to see that Butland isn't all about money but want's to develop by playing week in and week out.
    Good business by Stoke.
