Finally a CB who could help stability:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15846541.stm

I do not want to chat about the FA cup however look at it this way - By getting the replay we got nearly double what we would have done by winning the first match (although the extra £18,000 would have been nice) so in the end at least we didn't crash out with nothing this year.

    Anyway, Purse - any thoughts?

Trouble is you don't get much money from a crowd of 2519.

Have you seen Millwalls new concrete Stadium............pass it on the Charing Cross train to Town.........very depressing to look at on a wet and cold day,not quite a day to the seaside.

Oh well that explains it then, he's come for the sea air. We should have thought of that when trying to sign others previously. I read a bit on PASOTI earlier with a thread by the user IJN. Apparantly had a lovely chat with this guy at the Stourbridge game. He is going to give it 110% and would die for the club he said. Either gives cuddles or bollocks others as appropriate. Now him having said all that means it is about to burst into a day of sunshine at Home Park and we are saved. I have noted that IJN is a very good fund raiser for the cause and has worked hard to get money in to the Trust etc. He is also big mates with El Presidente Webb and they were in the director's box at Stourbridge or whatever their equivalent is for the match hence meeting him. Now excuse me for being slightly cynical here but it all sounds a tad starstruck to me if you believe to the word what Mr Purse stated to them. What was he going to say. "I've signed but don't give a fig for your club or anyone else". The proof will be on the pitch and until he puts words into practice then that is all they are and given our record of signings over a couple of years I think we should be a little less naive and a little more doubting before stating to the world that the saviour has come.

Quite right Sensible, he didn't actually set the world alight at Yeovil by all accounts.

Anyway good luck with him, at least Mr Brent has loosened the purse strings

I'm never bothered what players do at other clubs personally. There are many many players who cock up or don't make an impression in one place only to star in another. We have previously had a squad of average players who gelled into a swan rather than a frog and this was the case in our double promotion stint. I prefer to wait and see is all rather than look lovingly into a players eyes with mouth open just because he has said something that sounds good.

We need Purse his cat and dog etc... or someone that can last 90mins. Sods law that I was thinking about putting all my worldly goods on Stourbridge to win but maybe my blood too Green eh! Honestly was only one result if all admit...can predict some games of Argyle but this was a corker. Ah well me balls not big enough so a little more capers out here. To be honest again never felt so sad, even after what we have gone through in recent yrs. But COYG will not give in now!!

During the halftime break an advert came on the telly about betting. You know the one with the "in play" bets. It was offering 10/1 on Stourbridge winning the game 2 - 0. My son and I discussed the merits of that seriously but didn't bother with it. There was a temptation though but I could never bring myself to bet against my own club. At the final whistle we just looked at each other. Wonder if the players had a telly in the dressing room?
