He didn't kill anyone...everyone deserves a second chance and, you never know, he could be useful.

    Difficult .

IF he is as disruptive as it seems , then no thanks .

Why have none of the clubs he has been on loan to not signed him up ?

IF we could be sure he would knuckle down and play the " Team " game , then give him a go , but I really don't think he can .

I just keep remembering the interview with NA where he was asked if he would play puncheon if he was available , he said " No " in an instant .

JP must REALLY have pissed someone off .

So all things considered a No from me .

I am not worried by the second chance aspect. However I do have an issue with his personality. Obviously he needs a club to be interested in him otherwise his footballing career comes to an end during the summer. As for him staying at Saints........nah not the best move in the world. Just my opinion at any rate!

I liked him a lot as a player when he first came to us, but they say you should never go back in life. It doesn't work when you hook up with ex-girlfriends, and I reckon the same applies to ex-players.

If he's unwanted he's got to come back to us. Adkins is pragmatic enough to give him another chance if he feels he can be useful, but NC may be another matter. I don't know the man personally, but I'm not sure that our Nicola does forgiveness.

If his agents comments are accurate then he appears to be a contrite person.
He may well have learned a hard lesson & do we not all make mistakes in life.
He clearly has a talent we could do with - pace out wide etc & lets not forget he looked impresssive for us when he was on song.
If he genuinely would like a fresh start at Southampton then give him a go.
Isn,t going to cost us anything, he already our player.

Every instinct says "don't touch him with a bargepole" but what do I know? If he can be redeemed and made into a team player then Nigel Adkins is probably the best person to do that. At the end of the day it's Nigel's decision and I trust him to do the right thing.

To be honest, i'd be annoyed if we take him back with open arms. It will show that as a club, we're a soft touch - it will give out the wrong message, not just to Puncheon but to all the other players in squad.

If I was a player and I had worked my socks of for the team since July and all of a sudden Puncheon comes rocking up to take my place in the team, i'd be pretty pissed at that. So with that in mind, Adkins runs the risk of completely upsetting the harmony of the squad if he was to welcome him back.

It's not the right move. We need to stick him straight on the transfer list in January, swallow our pride and take a cut price fee for him. Word on the street, is that Millwall are looking very closely at him anyway.

I don't think he fits in with our system, I would prefer someone else in all honesty. Maybe a swap deal with Bristol City for Adomah, or similar deal with another club.

Interesting that he has only come to this conclusion after finding that all other avenues have come to nothing. I'd like to think he means it but unfortunately he is completely selfish and just talking the talk. In his mind it is all about Jason Puncheon.

If he had just kept his head down and worked hard he could be playing regularly for the team top of the championship and with the chance of playing in the prem next season. More fool him!

The only reason he got p*ssed off is because Pardew was playing OXO instead of him, so now that OXO has gone he's happy.
Adkins needs to have a chat with him to see whats in the boys head, and where his future lies.
tbh I would have him back any day.

Agreed. Send him back to Blackpool in exchange for phillips. I'd be happy if we offered him AND cash.

So what your saying is that no one deserves a second chance?
I'm sure in your life you have been given one?

No, Puncheon's style of play does not fit in with our teams style.

To me this is a no brainer, the teams mental state at the moment is better than I can ever remember, everyone seems In good spirit they are friends off the pitch as well as on it and Adkins has them working as a unit!
If Puncheon wants to get back in he is going to have to become part of that and to do that you have to get involved with everyone not just one or two as you probably can at somewhere like Man City or Chelsea!

I say give the guy another chance he is a very good player and we have a serious issue with width and cover, he would be a new signing with something to prove!

He wants to play premier league and I would say we are his best option so we may just get the best out of him!

Players do grow up, bring him back in to train on a trial basis, wipe the slate clean BUT on the proviso he will be back out training with the youth at the first sign of his old ways!

Say what you want about Puncheon but he Is a good player and can change games, he has never to my knowledge slated Saints publically and when I read his question and answer thing on twitter about 5 or 6 weeks ago he was actually very honest and complimentary of our club!

I'm hoping Adkins meets him half way and gives him a go!!!

Puncheon has flair and width and quite a lot of skill, he has scored goals in the premier league so tell me exactly what part of that play doesn't fit within what we are trying to do here?

The fact he tries to do everything himself to start off with.... his decision maing is poor... We need someone to fit into the team.

Best argument for him not to be allowed back in but this is where I think Adkins is a bit sharper in the sense I think he would make Punch earn his spot with himself firstly but just as importantly with the team and also the fans!

If he can do a job for us and he is on our books why cut our own noses off to spite our faces!!!
