Puncheon has been forced out of the fold due to his alleged antics behind the scenes. Personally I feel that if there is a chance of mending old wounds and rebuilding bridges between him and the management, then it can only be positive for the club. He's a quality player at times, and I for one would like to see him apologise and make his way back into the squad. So, would you take Puncheon back - yes or no?
If he knuckled down and actually worked for the team, then I'd take him back. The chances of this happening are however very small.
Yeh I agree with that, if his attitude changed then by all means as I rate him as a player. You would think he would see how well we are doing and want to be part of it.
No way, not a chance - I don't care if he's as good as Maradona, I don't want him anywhere near the first team
It's weird because i don't even regard him as a southampton player anymore,he's not interested in us and i'm not interested in him, only how much we get for him.
if he miraculously learns a bit of humility and apologizes to adkins, the coaching staff, cortese and the entire team and begins to realize he is just another member of the squad, i wouldn't mind keeping him. He would have to work very hard and prove that he has turned a corner, but if he did so, he is undoubtedly good enough to play for us in this division
It doesn't matter whether we think he does have a way back or not, it is set in stone with Adkins and Cortese that he will never play for our first team again. I've lost all interest in the lad in all honesty, this has dragged on way too long and I could not care less about where he goes or how much for, just get him out and be done with it already. Little rat.
Am I the only one that thinks he isn't that good? His decision making is awful. Anyone can have good pace, good at dribbling and a rocket shot but if you don't have the brain to use it, it is no use.
No way! Damage has been done and the players don't even like him! I remember Chaplow saying, along the lines of, "Hopefully Puncheon will be gone soon." I don't even think he is that good anyway and I don't think we need him. We have Guly, Lallana, De Ridder, Holmes and Forte for the wings and Dickson and Fox can play there too.
To be honest, i'm amazed that he is still a Saints player, it can only be that all the clubs that want him aren't willing to pay NC's valuation of him. There is no doubt in my mind that NA wants him "out of the building" and I could only see him playing for the first team if we had a severe injury crisis. Personally, I feel that we should just take the money and run as we are unlikely to get the £1 million that NC wants for him from QPR, Millwall or Blackpool.
We've all had a change of heart sometime in our lives. How many wanted Connolly out because he was always injured? If (big If) he knuckelled down and played as good as he thinks he is why shouldnt he get a chance. Nobody else seems to want him, maybe because his Ego beats him to the club.
Personally I would accept it if he returned to the team. But I don't think he would get a great reception so I can't see it.
It would be a step backwards for the squad to let him back in as far as I'm concerned. Our dressing room spirit is what sets us apart from many other clubs from what I've seen from player interviews. No individual is worth risking that.
