Sort out this mess you've created for yourself, the warning signs have been there since the Huddersfield game. if it hadn't been for Marshall then we may have been looking at 3 losses on the trot instead of just 1. You've gone from playing 4-4-2 in pre-season to 4-5-1 in competitive games, your lack of pre-season games is backfiring on you.

You were complaining about needing more "quality" in your squad last season and now you have got it you don't know what to do with it, you insist on sticking with your 4-5-1 formation with your lone "battering ram" upfront and it's just not working, it didnt work last season with Kenny Miller upfront and it's not working this season with Helguson up front. Granted he scored today but his goals will be few and far between. Helguson hardly holds up the ball and it's brought back to the Cardiff back line with pace and McNaughton and Taylor are repeatedly getting caught out. If you can't hold it up in the air for god sake hold it up on the deck, that's where a Jay Bothroyd would excel in the front line, but you'd rather a 35 yr old donkey play up front just because he "works hard", sorry Malky but he isn't working hard enough and your tactics are making the team easy to play against !.

You really need to start defending higher up the pitch, you allow the team to sit back and soak up the pressure but are too slow on the break to exploit space left behind, if your too slow to counter then you just have to control the possesion and we are just not doing that.

You can't hide behind a Carling Cup Final now Malky, your being watched more than ever after recieving the backing you so badly sought after last season.

Sort it out Malky because the Malaysians will want to save face if it all goes wrong and the buck stops with you !!

Sorry but we were too good for you today, both your goals were scrappy, expected a lot better from you.

I thought all 6 goals were scrappy today. The defence was awol and i'm sure 2 of their goals were assists from cardiff players. Let's hope turner is staying because that was a shocking defensive display.

Not taking anything away from Bristol, they played well against what they were faced with.

On paper we have one of the strongest clubs in this league... We should be winning games like these as we would have done in the past, not struggling to get a goal. Talented strikers, and plenty of them... But seems there's no using them... I fear for Malky, I really do.

I should say I trust him to turn it around, we just need to use the players we have better...

you say "teams like these" im sorry but we are no longer one of them teams, as was shown today, we completely outclassed you, it wasn't that you we're bad, we we're just that good, and your fans built you up to have already won this fixture before a ball was kicked, We are a completely different team from last year, expect us to be up there with you <ok>

"On paper we have one of the strongest clubs in this league".

Hasn't anybody told you that you don't actually play on paper?

"We should be winning games like these".

That's a very arrogant statement to make, and totally unwarranted juging by recent results.

No offence guys but it is asking for trouble when Hilts24 said "We always beat the wurzels" before the game. Asking for trouble. Only one game but looks like your manager has his work cut out.

Agree that statement is unwarranted, after they'd beaten Palace so convincingly they were always going to be full of it. We would have had to have been near our best to win, sadly we didn't even get close and gifted 3 of the four goals. I think they'll be top half this season but any away trip that involves 3 gifted goals will normally end in dissapointment!

    Knackered.

I didnt make that statement. They beat us 2 seasons ago.

I didnt even make a prediction.

Though conceding 4 to a team like Bristol City makes me think we could be in for a long hard season.

Budget more or less spent , little pace added ( apart from Bellamy ) and thats what was needed.

A growing number, inlcuding me, are converting to this view. 4-5-1 is not working .... and we are NOT entertaining something (which despite all the other criticisms) you could not level against DJs teams. Even when we didn't stuff teams we looked as if we might. We used to have a real go at teams, not any more.

Is it? Recent seasons form suggest we have been better. With all the changes and investment in the squad we should have improved. So arguably, we absolutely should be beating teams lke this, and to suggest otherwise is defeatist.

However, I think there is premature panic regarding the formation and goal scoring. We've scored 3 in 3, hardly setting the league alight I concede but we're not in a drought! We'd also not conceded until this match, so something went wrong (Connelly being bunged in??). We need to see more from Mason, and Bellamy needs to be utilised better. Kimbos a'coming too so lets not get too dramatic just yet.

We scored scrappy goals? You need to take a look at that video because no one could describe any of our four goals as scrappy? You might want to question your defence which seemed to get very easily torn apart. Your first was forced in from a corner. (A warning to us about Heatons lack of height) thats fair enough. but the second one was a misplaced shot that fell nicely. a bit of luck there.

Posted By Swamp before the game..

'i suspect malky will not want us to go all out for the 5-0 or 6-0 but i forsee a resounding win.

bristol are crap and we are probably the best team in the division, its that simple. almost as simple as someone from bristol"

Tongue in cheek? probably, but don't he look a twat now...

    Enjoy the win mate <ok>

I'm confident we'll pick ourselves up after this, bring on the next game.

I still think we should be beating teams like this though.

Well, from what I saw We need to be beating teams like you and we did. (pretty comfortably to be honest) If you continue to play that way we will definitely be at different ends of the table and not the ends you were guessing before this game.

What would worry me the most if I was a Cardiff fan is that you played 5 in midfield whereas we played 4 and we comfortably controlled it for the vast majority of the game?

    Early days yet.. but.

No, you are right. (except about the top 6)

But we all know that bad starts can sometimes get worse before they get better....
