It was indeedy 35 million quid... well and truly shafted by Newcastle IMO. Having seen him today coming on as a sub.. He's not worth six million. Downing no way and Henderson is decent but over priced and over rated. All 3 are IMO. No wonder Suarez plays before Carroll. Just pleased Suarez didn't play today. I just wonder IF we had actually played a more attacking side? We would have lost so I guess. Tony knows what he's doing.. well done every single one today. But, much as I like Whelan he was bloody awful today, but it was against one of the best midfields in the country.
Torres wasn't worth 50 million either - they were all inflated prices triggered by Red Roms infactuation with Fernando. I personally tghink that Caroll would fit in very well with TP's formation and given that he is English and young, I think he is worth 6 million any day - IMO. I think Kenny is trying to build a young english team and time will tell whether or not their true value has been reflected in the transfer fees, but at present it doesn't look good!
