TONY PULIS admits he is fighting for his job after his pitiful Potters lost at home to Aston Villa.

Yesterday’s 3-1 defeat made it just one win in 13 for Stoke and boss Pulis is under fire following seven years at the Britannia.

Asked about his own position, Pulis answered: “That’s up to Peter and the Coates family who run the club.

“I’ve always given my best for club and always will. Fingers crossed, we will get enough points to stay up again.”

Pulis, 55, claimed he has never taken Prem safety for granted.

Stoke are four points clear of the drop zone but lowly rivals Wigan, Sunderland and Newcastle all play today.

Pulis added: “The first target is always 40 points, I never get blase about it.”

But the real point/pt no pun intended surely is NOT 40pts is it? I reakon 38pts would see us fairly/more or less safe given the other teams play each other.

(edit) IMHO Pulis was in his mind sure we would be SAFE around Xmas? we we're I think? 13pts off relegation places then.. our wheels have come off big time.

I can't help but wonder Potts if he is doing this on purpose mate as some way of getting back at the people that have relieved him of certain powers within the club!

He may just turn it around soon to keep us up!

If it's not deliberate it's the kind of mind blowing incompetence that should have seen him sacked weeks ago!!!!!
