http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2326819/Tony-Pulis-close-leaving-Stoke.html Long-serving Stoke manager Tony Pulis may take charge of the team for the last time at Southampton, leaving Arsene Wenger as the only top-flight boss to be in the same job for more than three years. Pulis is scheduled to meet chairman Peter Coates for their end-of-season review next week, with issues needing to be addressed on both sides. The 55-year-old manager, in charge at The Britannia since 2006, has been hurt by criticism from supporters over the teamâs style of play, having taken the club to a Wembley FA Cup final and into Europe. The Stoke hierarchy want to assess if Pulis will fit in with the clubâs new player-recruitment policy and the required behind-the-scenes work at their academy. Pulis has even been forced to deny rumours that he has decided to walk away from his job like his good friend Sir Alex Ferguson. Famed for their team spirit over recent years, Stoke have been hit by high-profile problems with players this season as they flirted with relegation. Jermaine Pennant has not played for the club since August after falling out with Pulis while there is currently an internal investigation into allegations a pigâs head was left in the locker of striker Kenwyne Jones. In the fall-out, the window of a Porsche owned by midfielder Glenn Whelan was smashed. Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay would be a strong contender for the job if Pulis goes while Rafa Benitez may be an outside candidate.
