The 53-year-old says his hunger for the challenge at the Britannia Stadium is no less than it was five years ago, when he officially rejoined a club which had just finished 13th in the Championship. Pulis led City to one of the best seasons in their 148-year history last term when they reached the FA Cup final for the first time, qualified for Europe and finished 13th to secure Premier League football for a fourth successive season. Pulis believes those achievements will make City's next campaign even tougher as expectancy grows. He insists survival is the priority again next term, but dismisses any suggestion that the club have already achieved as much as they can. He said: "If you look at what we have achieved over the last five years, it has been success after success. "But that doesn't always run in a straight line, so we have to make sure we are up and running again and that everyone knows how tough it will be. "Staying in the Premier League is the priority, and that would be a success in itself because I don't think you can underestimate how difficult it is to do that in the most competitive league in the world." However, Pulis believes if Stoke could finish in the top 10, that would be as great an achievement as reaching the FA Cup final was this term. He added: "It has been a fantastic journey here and I hope it hasn't finished; there is still lots to achieve. "We are still not in the top 10, and I am desperate to do that. To establish Stoke City as a top-10 Premier League club would be fantastic." Pulis's five years back in charge make him the fourth longest-serving manager in the Premier League, behind only Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and David Moyes. He added: "I am a great believer in stability, especially if you get the right mix. It is paramount to being successful. "I have tremendous respect for Peter Coates and his family and, as long as they are happy with what I am doing, then I am happy here."
