LMFAO! Look at this response: 34. Galaxy 5 MINUTES AGO Norwich City striker Grant Holt says he has given up on being picked for England ================ Dear Grant Holt You were "never" ,or will "never" be good enough to play for England. The only thing that's denying you a chance of playing for England, is you waking up from your dreams each morning. Talk about getting above your own station.
I'm wondering if it's worth putting a bet on holty getting a call up. Can any of you guys put me in contact with a "Michael Chopra"?
126 games played for NCFC, 59 goals scored, and he didn't start all of those games! Thats the problem with the England team, they'd rather pick Andy Carroll who can't hit a horses arse with a banjo, but cost £35 million so he must be good!!!!!
Thats why I love England so much......... Can you imagine England's pie bill if Grunt ever got to wembley........the food prices there are unreal...!
Only one third of those games in the Premiership, though. His Prem ratio is much lower, I'll wager. It's easy to score goals against teams like... well Ipswich!
Football fans like banter. But what is banter? Research suggests it's when two men fancy each other but cannot express their true feelings. -- Betfair Poker (@Betfairpoker)
Not on Grant Holt specifically but I gave up on England about 15 years back as the always picked the same squad regardless of form and whether they were fit to play. They went through a stage where Shearer would be picked even if he had only played 1 game after 6 months out injured. I think Hodgson is better than the previous managers but probably the likes of Holt wont get a look in as they havent got youth on their side.
I will never play for England because I'm **** at football, but at least I can admit it. I might play for Sealand if I can be helicoptered there from the Ecuadorian Embassy...
Have to say, he comes across as an arrogant **** in that interview! what ****ing right did he think he had to be included, yes he was second highest scorer but there are other factors to be considered like how he would fit into Hodgsons formation.
not great timing but he is sort of right. there is and has been a clique within the england setup for many years. with the selection of shawcross for example or even forster, hopefully that means some players who haven't been tried but who have been playing well for ages get a chance ahead of the 'oldies' who continuously failed to deliver for england. i'd sooner see adam lallana pull on an england shirt ahead of aaron lennon.
