Pubs in Bristol

    Going down for the match and staying over for a couple of days....just wondered if anyone can recommend pubs to use and not to use...as we haven't been there before....thanks in advance

    The Old Duke, King Street. Cracking, traditional pub with live bands. Seems to be popular amongst the over-40's. We just popped in for a quick one a few years ago, ended up staying all night. Even 18 year-old daughter enjoyed it.

    edit: don't think it's really a football pub so nice and safe.

    yeah king street has some good pubs, few bars on Bordeaux quay & millennium square. other side of the harbour nearer Ashton gate there is the cottage inn or the pump house

    if the weather is nice, there is the grain barge, or opposite there is a few bars at wapping wharf near the ss great britain
