It's one thing for the manager to deflect attention away from his underperforming team by blaming the officials or the pitch or whatever else is available, but I hope that in private that he tells the players in no uncertain terms what he thinks of their performances.

SAF and Mourinho have long used the tactic to make outlandish statements after a poor result to draw attention to themselves and away from the players, I hope this is what Moyes is doing.

I'd be more worried if he was doing a Wenger and always absolving his players from blame, I may be wrong but over the years Wenger genuinely seemed to think that his players are perfect and it was always due to external factors that his team lost.

I'm not implying that it is purely the players fault, a large portion of responsibilty lies on the manager's shoulders, but both the manager and the vast majority of the players need a kick up the backside.

Are you privvy to discussions during training and away from public?? You assume that SAF & Mau talk to their players about their performances in private but you don't think Wenger does the same? Even though Wenger has been extremely successful as Arsenal manager and has managed his team longer than every other premier league manager has managed theirs put together.

If Wenger didn't speak to his players about their performance, they'd be no discipline in the squad and it would fall on its arse within weeks. I'd imagine the current Man Utd side and the current Arsenal side know full well when they are performing well and when they aren't because even if the managers were'nt telling them that they are not up to scratch, there are enough mongs on twitter that are
