What is the connection between Clive Dunne's song "Grandad" and Lou Reed's "Walk on the wild side"?
I'll give it to you, Theo. Herbie Flowers was the session bassist on "Walk on the wild side". He came up with the distinctive bass line that IMHO makes the song. He got paid a flat £7 for that. He later wrote "Grandad" and made a lot of money out of that.
I found out that Rick Wakeman played piano on the Grandad recording.
