need a bit of advice - I am travelling over from Belfast (From Leicester originally but cant get over much)to see the Hull game on Saturday. Staying with relatives in Thurlaston. Can anyone advise on the best pubs closest to the stadium for home fans - bit a atmosphere pre match!!

I tend to go to Local Hero or Counting House if it is packed as they are the closest to the stadium.

Swan and Rushes is also a good place to go - is a more traditional pub and has good choice of beers and ales the last time I went but is more out of my way which is why I don't go there.

Dry Dock also has a good choice of beers and ales but is more studently if you get me - haven't been there in years so could have changed.

The Font and The Western are the other ones within comfortable walking distance but I've never been there on match days.

Local hero is the place to be

However, if you want a lot of atmosphere that isnt TOO packed and in a lovely area overseeing the canal then Soar Point is outstanding
