I was into the article up until the point i read...

    Two wins...a draw...and a defeat!

At that point the report fell apart for me and i stopped reading...not to forget the 8 goals conceded against mk and barnsley...

I didn't think we played with 3 centre backs in the Barnsley and MK games?

I thought the 4 games were 2 x Yeovil, Swindon, Newcastle, or is my dementia already playing tricks with me. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Surely you should only play a 3-5-2 is if your defense is strong and your midfield is weak so you can flood it? Neither us or United should be doing it then!

In PT's favour, he complained about the dimwittedness of the players last season rather than their ability and he dumped some of the dimmest.
Against PT he has assembled a young squad with youth prevailing who have a lot to learn but presumably he assessed their intelligence when he selected them.

Overall we will know nothing until at least 6 league games are passed. He looks to have been unlucky with injuries and the quality of the opposition so far. Swindon, MK and Barnsley look like they have decent budgets and they are all in the top seven places yet Gills might, with luck have picked up at least 3 points. But really it is all too early and with those youngsters there will be frequent errors. The good thing is that if they stay together they could become a strong squad in a year or two. It is a new experience for Gills supporters to have a team that might get better the following season rather than just getting older.
