Allen was good on Sunday and exactly what we needed. Sometimes lighting quick counter tactic doesn't pay off if the team is not clicking and its better to keep the ball and build pressure and thats what Allen (and Lambert) brings to the team.
Meh. Allen is getting better slowly but at best should be a bench option. I think his attitude is great, never bitches about being benched, getting criticism, etc. But it's been a few years and we've never seen him do much other than one or two good performances and a million average ones. Think when all are fit, Henderson should be the first name on the team sheet, Can/Lallana/Gerrard, and Allen after that. I'm probably forgetting someone but I'd even have Coutinho come on as CM to do what he does before Allen. (Normally I'd put him, Markovic and Sterling with the attacking players). All in all it's a much much better bench and first XI than last year.
Disappointing. From the thread title I thought Rodgers had discovered another world class player no one had ever heard of.
How can you say this, every player Brendan has signed this summer has been very well known by the members of this board for years. Most on here have followed the careers of the new signings since they were junior players and have hope Liverpool would sign them one day as they fit the system so well
Exisiting players or new? I can understand others knowing more about your new signings than you do, I know nothing of Rojo other than the games i watched him play in the world cup (i never get to see any Portugese football).
