PSG Happy with Erding

    Paris Saint Germain boss Antoine Kombouare insists Turkish star, and Newcastle target, Mevlut Erding remains part of his plans.

    Erding was involved in the Emirates Cup at Arsenal for PSG, playing 90 minutes against New York Red Bulls.

    Newcastle have been chasing Erding for the last few weeks and their boss Alan Pardew has refused to give up in his chase for him.

    But the player himself has previously insisted he was happy in the French capital, and despite the influx of new players this summer, would fight for his place.

    And his boss Kombouare seems happy with him, saying: "He's playing in the team, he's out there on the pitch, he's a part of my team."

    Erding's agent also insisted that despite being in England this weekend, they did not take the opportunity to talk with Newcastle again.

    "Mevlut was in England only to play in the tournament," his agent Pierre Frelot said.

    "He has not had discussions with Newcastle and he will not have discussions with Newcastle this weekend."

    Dont understand why they cant just forget about this lad and move onto another target, I think its all a smokescreen while we dont sign anyone, really looking forward to the strikeforce of Ba, Best, Lovenkrands and Ameobi. Best in the league.

    Time to give up on this one I think!!

    This has taken so long, it's not as if he's jumping through hoops to sign for us so he can f*ck off, not fit to wear the black and white ... unfortunately quite a few of the current squad are in the same boat !!

    ^^ this, he clearly isn't interested. I can smell the old "we tried for Erding for but by the time he decided it was too late" line at the end of the window with no more players arriving!!

    from the off i havent been too keen on someone who was happy to be 4th or 5th choice at a club rather than be our No.9. screw him.

    Pardew has got one chance to land someone good now. he made the first part of the window look great but for 7 months our priority has been a striker, someone that has not been sorted yet. C'mon pardew! Justify my respect for the job you've done thus far! im begging u!

    This is getting beyond a joke now. He clearly doesn't want to come here. I really can't be positive about our club right now, it just seems to go from bad to worse. On the other hand, we still have a full month of the transfer window open but after Pards quotes about only bringing one more player in I've given up hope. If Erdinc doesn't come then Ashley should stump up the cash for a proven goalscorer, you can't expect every cheap continental signing to be a Tiote.

    Me aswell, also watched Vargas. Vossen is very good but do you reckon he'll make the step up? His finishing in FM11 is quality! <ok>
