City ahead by some margin, maybe Webb just loves Manchester <whistle>

tbf, we have been s**t anyway through most of his years as a ref

    Doesn't mean he didn't hate us though<laugh>

He must despise Swansea then. So much love for City and Arsenal though.

    Disproves the United myth too.

Doesn't actually prove much unless someone has a break down of each of the opposition United, City and Arsenal had. What if most of his City games were City V the bottom three teams? Naturally they'd have a higher points per game than Arsenal V top four teams.

Still think he was a shoddy ref who bottled the big decisions and gave plenty of irrelevant ones so that he got the 'majority' right. Still think he favoured the big teams at home too - whichever clubs they were.

yes for me Webb is an epic bottler, afraid to upset managers the FA and his own boss depending on the situation <ok>

His failure ot act in the WC final was a good example. he made the rules come 2nd to not "ruining the game"

"Coward" Webb indeed, and summed up best when he **** himself during a WC final, bottled giving a second pen against Arsenal when even Ox immediately knew what he'd done, and then that Chelsea game last season - the decision not to give the pen against Et'o was bad, but the knee-high lunge against Henderson was... well it was as blatant a sending-off as ever, and he never even got a card.

But the United jibes aside - I've never been serious about that, as in the Ryan babel United shirt wind-up - was that he was an inveterate 'homer', and we rarely got to have the ****er ref at Anfield in big games, sadly. Overall though, I simply cannot go along with all the eulogies and plaudits - United jokes aside, he was ****ing spectaculary crap in big games. The ****ing definition of the Emperor's New Clothes, imho.

19 games and less than 1 point per game average. Plus he single handedly put us out of the FA Cup last season.

    **** that ****.

I knew one of you fence sitters would come on and say "stop fighting children, I even mentioned it, clearly I was propositioned with sex by dave and politely declined, and tried to dissuade further approaches, not that you cared to read. :D

    Back OT <whistle>

Need to see what games he reffed but everyone knows he bottles decisions in big games knowing full well, not giving a penalty will cause less uproar then giving one that results the outcome of the game.

Poor WBA thouh, 7 games reffed, 2 draws 5 defeats <laugh>
