Proud Geordie, Great Man

    Yesterday saw the passing of a great man, passionate to the end about his beloved Newcastle United, and a canny bloke all round.

    A man who hadn't missed a home match in almost 30 years, and a man who made sure that the toon was in my blood from childhood.

    Even to the end he still kept the faith, despite his numerous gripes with the current state of the club and modern football in general.

    I only post this on here because I have never met a man who loved the city and the club like he did, so much so that he saw fellow fans such as yourselves as family.

    In one of the last coversations I had to him I told him how the situation put every trivial event into perspective, and he replied saying 'aye, I cannae believe people are moping over me what the **** is going on with all this twitter **ite'.

    To the very end, a man who loved his club, no matter what was occurring.

    Sorry to hear that mate, hope you give him a good send off mind. And here's hoping even more that the Toon play a blinder against Arsenal and the mackems.

    There'll be another proud Geordie in the making somewhere to keep the numbers up! <cheers>
