A couple of different fan groups are planning protests. There’s a sit in at the end and also the display of DW Sports logos to piss the fat man off. Just seen on Twitter the club have sunk to a bit of a new low here and grassed fans up to the police.
I don’t know why people claim that Ashley is not bothered by protests and negative publicity. He clearly is, he doesn’t like it one bit. If the whole club is close to selling story was made up to deflect from the window and stop the Wolves game protest, as some suggested, then it’s time to really crank up the pressure. It’s been mooted that the fans should stage a pitch invasion, but that for me is totally wrong. We cannot afford to give him any moral ground, nor do we want to damage the club or team, just harass the hell out of the fat leach.
The Manchester Magpies are not getting involved. They have a trip planned to watch the game against Burnley instead.
I remember the old protest song we use to sing back in the seventies against Lord Westwood Pretty tame by today's standards but "We shall overcome We shall overcome We shall overcome some dayyyyyyy Oooohh deep in my heart, I do believe, we shall overcome some dayyyy" repeat non stop
On the pitch for me... Fuk it waving banners and singing naughty songs is all lovely but we need direct action..I've had a fukin nuf. I'm two off the front in the east Stand and its tempting to get on but we need numbers . They can't nick us all
Thats the trouble We have no bollix ... Strong as your weakest man and I'm afraid most of the fans are weak. But don't worry we can wave a flyer at him.. .hhhrrm scary
I don’t think Chippy was ever a glint in anyones eye. Just read up on Lord Westwood - he resigned the year I started going to games but never heard of him. Sounds a few steps up from our current owner but with some Ashley-like tendencies. “Lord Westwood was known as a man who dominated the boardroom with his razor sharp wit, a talent which made him an outstanding after dinner speaker and a captivating conversationalist.[1] Despite his good record as chairman he resigned from the board under controversial circumstances in 1981. Newcastle United were in dire straits and each director had been asked to put a £16,000 guarantee into the club to help finances. Lord Westwood had just been hit with a big financial loss following the stock market collapse of DCM, Europe's leading toy company, of which he was also chairman, and he refused to dig any deeper in helping out Newcastle United.”
Just be careful when you step out on the pitch that you aren’t hit by the rain of tennis balls that Groot is planning on volleying over the Milburn Stand.
I know how you feel. All I see is painted bed sheets, coffins round town and Cronemeister training his Mrs to shoplift from Sports Direct. I have personally spent thousands of pounds on my own protest against Ashley and am getting sick of the rest of you not stepping up to the plate. If things don’t change then I may not be renewing my Season Tickets at Old Trafford next year.
"The lowest point in his stint as chairman was in the crisis-torn year of 1977, when six leading first team players threatened to quit the club after contract talks broke down. Amid allegations of back-stabbing in the boardroom, when Lord Westwood, claimed himself and the then just sacked manager Richard Dinnis were being knifed in the back, he ordered a complete ban of every Newcastle United employee, especially the players, from talking to the press. After a string of defeats, Newcastle went down 2–1 to Arsenal at St James' Park and hundreds of demonstrators called for the chairman's resignation with angry shouts of Westwood out. Many fans fought among themselves in the Leazes End and there were 10 arrests". Just read the back end of that article you have mentioned, but found the information a bit different to what I remember of those times this had **** all to do with Westwood, this was the continuing 'battle' between Newbiggin Hall and Kenton agro (housing estates bragging rites) there were many battles that season, in fact there was more entertainment off the pitch than on the pitch the fans had been calling for Westwood to leave all season As for the protests ?? anyone caught encroaching onto the field of play will be arrested, - maybe not on the night but most certainly in later days with video evidence, this is classed as a criminal offence and could effect your future status, just saying I'm not even sure he would turn up for the game anyway but it needs to a loud and sustained protest against Ashley so that everyone in TV land can hear
Cronemeister did that this weekend though and the only one who suffered was the sales girl at Sports Direct who had the cost of a pair of trainers deducted from her next months salary
I've had a cracking few days for getting free **** like....**** like that never happens to me. First the trainers, then I stopped at Sainsbo's on my way home from having tea at the pub with the Mrs and daughter child to purchase GTA V, i went to scan it but an assistant just came over and took the empty box out of my hand and told me that someone would bring the game down to me so I scanned my shopping, paid for it then sat on the seat and someone just came down and handed me the game and walked off, so I scored there. Yesterday I got a letter from my mortgage company which I didn't like so I rang them up and they said sorry the letter was wrong and they paid £25 into my bank for me having to ring them to complain....what the **** is going on? I'm putting the euros and normal lottery on this week like.....if you don't hear from me for a while you know why, and it's been a pleasure knowing y'all !!
