Why not take the opportunity of the bottom two leagues to be regional....save a lot of transport costs for club and fans.

Perfect opportunity to bring in B teams, but they are too short sighted so won't.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Wouldn't mind a few extra teams in the Premier though!

I reject it; far far too sensible a suggestion

Who are the "they" to whom you refer? I dont know what the motivation is for this, but the chances of the current member clubs voting for something like in Spain is very remote. Surely lower league clubs would suffer, having PL backed competitors? Interesting thought though. How far could a B team progress up the ladder in a five div system?

I like it. They should take the PL out of the League Cup and make it the 4 FL divisions.

No thanks, I want as big a chance to get to Wembley as possible.

Not for me Jeff. It's a distraction and I don't even know who the current holders are. It makes money for the Football League though, which is why it will stay.

I'm more interested in getting to the Friends Arena than Wembley.

The current holders are Man City and that's the reason we are in Europe next season. Would you therefore say 6th automatically qualifies for Europe or have a league team in Europe? It probably would be up to UEFA.

I am sure that would work. I have looked the final up and...nope, don't remember anything about it. Lallana missed a penalty, that must have been funny.

The FA. A B team realistically wouldn't get much further than L2 and that is a push imo. "Chelsea B" as Beefy says wouldn't be what he is imagining. The beauty of bringing the whole B team structure in in the UK would be that it hasn't been done before, so we could implement it in any way we thought would work best.

It's what they do in Spain. No reason it wouldn't work here. Most of the time the League Cup winner qualifies for Europe anyway.

Jeez, another of referee Clive Thomas''s proposals on the table. Over the last couple of weeks I've read his suggestions and observations to improve football from the perspective of 1983-4 and he's predicted the future so many times. Lots of his recommendations are now in football. Only last night I finished the book but not before I read his final recommendation of 18 team leagues down to and including Div 3 to shorten the fixture list, with two Div 4 leagues of 18 teams, one each from north and south regions. There was a little more to do with referees also in that final suggestion, but how prophetic is that.?

Re: League Cup - I've suggested before but I think it should be for all the teams not in Europe that season.

That would make it a realistic Cup chance for all the others, so more likely to field competitive teams.

This would lesson the fixture congestion on those teams who are in Europe.

It would give more teams / fans the chance to play in Europe as different teams will be winning it every season.

    RE: re-judding football league.
Will cause one very interesting season when relegation and promotion goes crazy. Potential for Whoever wins League 1 that year to gain nothing for it, and the bottom 4 of Championship to go down, or the top 1 or 2 of League 1 to go up and lots of the Championship get relegated!
