    All matches to be played in the south of the country. Teams play every three days. No player out of contract on June 30th allowed to take part.

    Another question. The news said a while back that when the virus got to the south of Italy it would be even worse than that seen in the north. Poorer population, lower levels of medical care, denser population, more families living together, less disciplined so unlikely to adhere to lockdown. Has the virus been and gone or did it flyover and on to somewhere else?

    These aren’t my thoughts, it’s a proposal by the Italians.

    There's something in this you know.

    One of my neighbour's moved an Italian into her house under the laughable guise that he's her husband. The bloke is a tool of the absolute highest order and will one day be getting my boot up his ample, ignorant, loudmouthed, drunken Eyetie arse.

    Ernie, have you tried reaching out to him by showing how cosmopolitan you are?

    Offer him a Cornetto;
    Or a stuffed-crust pizza topped with ham and pineapple; or chicken;
    Or share a bottle of Lambrusco with him.

    Make him feel at home.

    Reach out to him with a Cosmopolitan?

    He can **** right off.

    Neither am I reaching out to him with a bleedin' Negroni, an Aperol Spritz or a friggin' Cinzano.

    In fact, thinking about it, a Cornetto, a wine bottle and a pizza, they are all the perfect shape for driving up his jacksie with my foot.

    Ok, maybe not the pizza.

    Unless it was a calzone.

    Even then it'd probably need an extra fold or two.

    Or be specially rolled up like a hot savory Swiss Roll.

    I've not really thought this through properly. Bear with me whilst I work out a masterplan.

    Ernie, this anger cannot be good for your blood pressure. I suggest you go out to the garden, close your eyes, breathe deeply and listen to the birdsong. Do not forget to breathe again.
