Yes they deserve a pat on the back for not calling the more popular version of the game kick and clap like they normally do.
On balance NZ deserved it. However, some **** kicking and unforced errors from England invited trouble and unnecessary pressure. Two of NZ's second half tries were never tries. Several ex-pro's are on twitter scratching their heads over those decisions. One amazing knock on not picked up by the ref or the TMO, for a minute I thought there had been a rule change for the new season.
It certainly well worth watching, played well and NZ just about deserved it, but they put up a good fight.
