anything is possible,we have done far better than even any ardent fan can wish, can we finish it off with promotion? yes,is the answer,we have recent play off experience which helps, but i would rather talk a little more after saturday,if we balls it up,which is possible i will left be with egg on my face lol
and to yourselves rocky. In 2003/2004 season we needed five results to go against us on the last day, guess what it happened we went down with 51 points on goal difference,i dont take anything for granted,it can be a wicked game at times, but also brilliant,as a club we have been through the mixer a bit,but are now re-establishing ourselves in the league again.Promotion would be brilliant, but not a disaster if we dont,we are due a run again and have been making plenty of chances but not taking them,if we perm right we can beat anyone,as is anyone else capable, bottle and luck now is the magic ingredients to success, but ultimately its just a game,or at least i keep telling myself that lol
i really hope we go up and i wouldnt mind you lot going up as well,it would be nice to have another southern team in our league.but i guess where you are situated we are all northerners to you ha ha.
i guess if swindon is classed as a local derby then wycombe isnt that far off either,i think our board are having sleepless nights, league one footy on 4000 gates max a distict possibilty, and those figures are very generous indeed
it must cost you guys a fortune to follow your club up and down the country all season.fair play to you lot
i worked out that i probably could own 3 houses with the money i have spent on following torquay, but its never been as bad as it is now,car insurance shot up,petrol an evil price, and getting in to watch a game average 18 quid,at present just about sustainable, but for how long? not sure, but my motto is,you aint going to do it once your in the cemetary,so enjoy, cos you dont know how long you have got
i paid 81 quid on the train to get to torquay and back the other week but i didnt fancy driving and i could have a couple of beers on the day.usually we go by car and share the diesel money it makes it a bit cheaper cos theres usually 4 or five of us that go to away games.
still a lot though rocky, went to rotherham,i drove 90 quid in deisel, between 3 of us,done my nuts for 80 quid still, there will be the straw that breaks the camels back time, and it isnt far off for me,got 5 small kiddies,so would find it very easy to find some other way to spend the money. But apart from footy,my other love is fishing, thats getting expensive too,but will have to grin and bare it for now,and hope some sanity resumes, but i doubt it mate
my season ticket for next season has gone up another 35 quid do they think us fans are made of money,as you have already stated fuel costs, insurance and everything else has gone up but the wages never go up the same amount. it will soon be getting to the point where i will have to start looking at the fixture list and working out which away games i will not be going to.
well i suppose league one footy is more expensive but another 35 quid for us working class folk is a lot, there will be the final nail at this rate for sure, torquay did kids for 25 quid a season provided an adult season ticket was bought at the same time, not now,its 80 quid for kids til june then rises to 125 quid,we are all supposed to be encouraging fans of the future in the kids, but these price hikes will defintely not encourage them along, and on piddly arsed 2500 average gates we cannot afford to discourage folk, but what is the answer?
Don't get why Torquay can't get bigger gates loyalgull. Sure there's Plymouth and Exeter nearby but those 2 get nowt either and apart from that it's a big catchment area, is Devon that sleepy?
