We don't need fancy high scoring results... Just a mean defense. Congrats to MA and the team. Never in doubt.... much
Well done to everyone at Priestfield! A year to remember! Ghosts from the future. Christmas 2043 . Hoadie has his 2012/13 season scrapbook out to show his grandchildren while doshing out the Wergers toffees together with signed pictures of him posing with Superkeds.
Firstly I want to say thank you to all the goodwill messages we have received on here and that I have received privately even from supporters from other clubs, I am overwhelmed. It means so much to me. In truth it brings a tear to my eyes. I have never witnessed an automatic promotion since I supported the Gills AFTER the Peterborough season in was it 1973-74. Also the first time ever in our existence on home soil. Today was wrapped up when my eldest won a 100-1 fixed bet on the National, which served us nice at the Cricks after the game. Fate said today was to be OUR day. I'm to emotional to sum it up in other words at the moment but today is a good day. As a Gills supporter it is a life time experience. Thank you to every one and not forgetting every player and most importantly Martin Allen (promise just not to tell Lenny). The title will now be a bonus but as far as priorities go it is job done and no one can take that away. Enjoyed my day with my son along with itstimupnorth and his wife My heart has always been filled with blue blood but quietly I'm to old and wise to let emotion show through but maybe I have just done that in the best way I know.
Jumped around a bit in the office to a few odd looks from a mix of nationalities here in Majnoon (200 miles east of absolutely nowhere) in southern Iraq. Home on Tuesday. Like BRB I was there for the whole of the season 73-74 when we were runners up to Posh. I really hope that MA keeps the same focus going for the last few games as I want that championship for the club, the town and everyone who supports the Gills both near and far. Be good to hold onto that 1 away defeat for the rest of the season!
It brought a tear to my eyes as well, I was very emotional today and this is a day I will never forget. So so happy. I am so happy with how many messages I have received it is so nice to think what a world football is, it is a great community and there are some great people out there.
Wonderful day - decent weather, brb's company (& his son) and promotion. Job half done though - I won't be around in another 49 years if we miss out on the championship this time. At services on way home with some sad looking Leeds fans. Permission to gloat please..
Gloat if you want, I would be compassionate and then say how happy I am with our result as that may annoy a bit but why not, we don't get chances like this often.
I have experienced automatic promotions, both as Champions and runners-up and via the play-offs. Oddly enough I have to agree with Posh player Grant McCann after our win over Huddersfield at Old Trafford, there is no better way of achieving promotion than via the play-offs, the sheer roller-coaster of emotions, the uncertainty then the joy, all encapsulated in 3 magical games over a few days. Winning a League title is no mean achievement but in many cases the outcome is known well before the end of season and the last couple of games become meaningless and a bit of an anti-climax. To share that day out at Wembley in 1992 and at Old Trafford in 2011 (I missed the 2000 win over Darlington) with family, friends and other Posh fans are highlights of a long serving Posh supporter (this is my 57th year supporting Posh). Enjoy the day brb (and all Gills supporters) you deserve it, as the saying goes 'been there, got the T-shirt' so I know exactly how you feel.

It is a great great time, just don't want it all to end. In one way it is good that we have not won the title at the same time as that would mean that the celebration time is not over as we still have something to play for which does make me happy as I don't want this all to end and this means we can have a second and even bigger celebration once we have won the title, UTG.
It's going to give me many memory's these will go together with the ones from 2009 but I have to say this is better as this will be a title soon which is much better even though it was great going to Wembley I pick 2013's season over 2009 any day.
Fantastic that promotion has been sealed with so many games to spare and full credit has to go to Allen (and Hess) for assembling a team that have played consistently from Day 1 bar a couple of results at home. Let's hope that the tempo doesn't drop and that we go on to win the title as I think it would be a massive disappointment if we didn't. Very much looking forward to next season. UTG.
Congrats to Martin Allen and all the players! Yesterday was awesome, so happy to be promoted But the job is not done, lets finish the job and win that title, then will be the time for an even mental-er celebration!
