Okay, so with around 10 games to play for most teams, we start looking to see who will go up and who will go down, from all the divisions. I’m really only familiar with the PL & Championship, but I’ve been keeping half an eye on the top end of L1 & bottom of L2. Starting with the Premier League, it would seem the title’s between Manchester City and Liverpool. However it is the relegation battle that seems to be interesting, Norwich, although they look doomed, still have a chance at survival, as do Watford & Burnley. It does appear to be those three, Everton and Leeds for the drop. As I see it personally, I think Norwich will go down, unfortunately Leeds will stay up, and either Watford or Burnley will go down along with Everton, yes Everton to be relegated. I’m going with Burnley to survive. Now I’ve said that, they’ll probably not win another game all season! Going up to the Premier League, Fulham and Bournemouth, I think are given. However the 3rd team could be anyone, on current form Huddersfield would be favourites, but I fancy Blackburn to go up & come back down next year, but that one’s a different thread. Relegation, I think two out of the bottom three will definitely go, Peterborough and more than likely Barnsley, depending on the results of Derby, it may be they survive, or don’t, for me the other two spots after Peterborough will be Barnsley and Reading. Looking at League 1, I think Rotherham and Wigan are all but promoted, I fancy Oxford to take the playoff spot to promotion. Relegation wise, I think Crewe, Doncaster, Morecambe and Gillingham will stay where they are in the relegation zone. League 2, Forest Green seem to be all but there, I think Northampton will join them along with Newport, who’ve been around the play offs for the last few years. I think Swindon will take the final promotion place. Relegation wise, I think Scunthorpe have gone, but I fancy Oldham to escape & put Stevenage or Barrow down. Not knowing much about League 2 teams, I’ll go with Stevenage as the team to join Scunthorpe in non-league football! What’s everyone’s thoughts?
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Everton go down. They are really poor. They'll be banking on getting wins against Palace and Brentford; rest of their games, bar Newcastle (who they won't beat), are stinkers
I hope Everton don’t come down else the chances are they will be nailed on for 1st next season and there will be one less promotion spot to aim for. Unless it was just pie in the sky from our saviours and we won’t actually be building a promotion worthy squad.
I also have a soft spot for Everton as a proper fans club despite being at the top of the game pretty much forever. Although their current spend gazillions sugar daddy approach leaves a bit of a bad taste. But they are a proper football club with generally decent and level headed fans.
Just going to put the same bob I go to Liverpool regularly for a piss up and most locals I talk to are Everton fans and sounds as a pound
I wouldn't just presume Everton would be a promotion favourite! Look at the likes of Leeds, Notts Forest, Man City, Sheff Weds - All deemed "too big/good" to go down and would bounce back straight away. Not only did they go down, they plummeted down the leagues. They would need to be reminded that the championship is the hardest division to get out of.
If they megabucks players haven't got the fight in them to stay in the Premier League, would they have enough bottle to get a result at Coventry on a wet Tuesday in November???
Trouble is, when owned by a billionaire, it's likely funding (on top of parachute payments) mean an immediate rebound is likely. Although there's an attraction to seeing a club relegated that thinks it's too 'big' to go down, I'd rather a club in trouble and with limited resources went down, purely so we have a better chance of promotion.
I was going to nominate relegation of myself for general ****e and poor quality posts. In division one other than wigan get promoted and Sunderland dont I'm quite happy to hopefully be a bystander watching the drama without being involved in it for a change.
The current bottom three will go down I reckon. Norwich never look good enough in the Premier League anyway. Shame for Burnley, I wish we'd gone about things like they had but it looks like they've run out of steam too. Can't see anybody except Fulham and Bournemouth going up this season automatically. Be good to see a club like Luton in the top flight. Going down from the Championship, I think Peterborough are knackered, Derby haven't got enough to catch up now and I think it's too little too late for Barnsley. Rotherham look like they've tied up promotion from League One, while Wigan with their three games in hand will probably join them. MK Dons making a good go of it, but I'm hoping Oxford or Plymouth win the playoffs for a more interesting away day (guarantee Plymouth would be a Tuesday night game). Crewe and Donny are gone, any from the next four could join them. In League 2, Forest Green have pissed it, but then anybody from 2nd down to 9th is vying for those other two automatic spots. I reckon Newport County and Tranmere will do it. Sutton United an interesting one if they make the play offs, but I think Swindon have the experience. Scunthorpe are ****ed, Oldham are a car crash of a club and will probably join them. Stockport will probably win the Conference, and I'm going with Halifax to go up through the playoffs.

Dark horses for promotion from League Two are Bristol Rovers. They've got a young lad from Newcastle on loan called Elliot Anderson - an attacking midfielder who we would do worse than look at for next season if they decide to loan him to a Championship club. I first saw him as a 12 year old and he's the best of that age I've ever seen. The ever over optimistic and hysterical Mags have drawn comparisons with Gazza but to me he looks much more like a Peter Beardsley. In this clip from Saturday's game his is the first attack shown, coming in from the left. He then scores the second goal.
As much as we used to complain about signing from that level, the top players at that level are closing the gap every season. Scott Twine at MK would be one of the best midfielders in this division.
Could we please give Everton it's full name i.e. Frank Lampard's Everton, might just cheer the poor ****er up.
can posters keep up to date please - Everton is the old name - it's Frank Lampard's Everton at the moment - however, if he gets the boot and Rooney get's the job then it automatically changes to Wayne Rooney's Everton - it only becomes Everton again if a proper manager gets the job
