Hello, mackem in peace here, I can't get any sense out of anyone on my own board, just wondered if anyone on here knows exactly how much the promoted teams get this year and also where exactly the payments come from.
Need the info to settle an argument with a loudmouth Aussie who reckons that QPR will get 56million from the PL for promotion and 10 mill when they go back down again (??).
Any info would be much appreciated.

I thought they just got extra money off Sky, which is over 40mil. They would get parachute payments when/if they get relegated as well 12 mil every year for 4 years. Never heard about any other extra money for promoted sides.

The 56 million figure is the difference in the income between being in the Premier League and the Championship, and I think the parachute payment is 12 million for 4 years, might be wrong.

I think parachute payments are around the 15mil mark, I read an article earlier about Premier League funding but I can't remember.
No idea about the promotion money though, sorry!

Four years worth of parachute payments at £12m per season is ridiculous.
