Having been pre-season favourites for promotion, the performance against Oxford seems to have rattled the bookies [skybet] who now have us as 3rd favourites (13/2 to win the league and 11/8 for promotion)

Fleetwood are now favourites (5/1 - 10/11) with Chesterfield at 6/1 and 11/10.

Latest prices for Pompey are now:

9/1 to win the league [4th behind Chesterfield, Fleetwood and Oxford]

    2/1 for promotion

    40/1 for relegation.

I think you should concentrate on the relegation odds

After yesterday's 2-2 draw at Cheltenham, Pompey's odds are now:

    To win the league 14/1
    Promotion 5/2
    Top 7 finish 5/6
    Relegation 33/1

I'd say it was more likely a million to one to win the league, and 2 to 1 for relegation.

I really think the pundits predictions for us this season raised expectations too high.

    Absolutely spot on Stewie <ok>

James Beattie is taking Accrington in the right direction - he must be very proud of himself.

It's certainly a shame for the ex-Everton striker to be having such a hard time.

Wow Pie, it seems to have slipped your mind that Beattie also used to play for Southampton F.C. - easy mistake to make, I suppose......<whistle>

Interestingly, on my game as manager of the mighty Forest Green Rovers on football manager handheld, Portsmouth have just been relegated to the Conference. That's not particularly reassuring <doh>

Though Southampton were relegated from the Premier League last season

Or to put it another way, it's more important to you that your rivals fail than that your own team succeeds.
