Im still trying to get my head round why we havnt and wont spend any money!

Surely the '90 million' windfall you get for promotion is a small smount enough to spend on players!

Look how the previous/current promoted clubs spent in comparison to us!

    2011/12
Norwich - Morrison, Pilkington (5 million)
    Swansea - Graham (3 million)

    2010/11
Blackpool - Beattie, Basham, Grandin (All undisclosed fees)
Newcastle - Tiote, Ben Arfa, Perch (Undisclosed)
West Brom - Myhill, Shorey, Odemywinge (7 million)

    2009/10
Burnley - Fletcher, Bikey, Mears (7 million)
Birmingham - Dann, Johnson, Benitez, Hart (11 million)
Wolves - Doyle, Milijas, Zubar, Surman (17m in total)

There is clearly money to be spent and if you dont invest like Blackpool, then prepare for life in the Championship, I dont get this is our shot at the big time, why the owners wont dip into there pockets! Frustrating times!

Indeed.....the owners no longer want QPR and arent going to spend their own money on players when looking to sell.....we get 90 Million in TV money, but this is paid over the season, not a big cheque up front. Cash from Adel will probably just go into the club to pay off more of the debt making it more attractive to a buyer and thus Bernie and Flavio getting more money for the club.

Quite sad really and this season is going to be a painful one.

It really must be gettignclose to protest time. :(

It's such a shame the clowns are ****ting on NW/The fans like this.... Warnock now says if Tarb goes he still wont see any of the cash.

Northy is correct.... Looks like asset stripping before sale to me.

Norwich - Morrison, Pilkington (5 million) - Probably be relegated
Swansea - Graham (3 million) - Probably be relegated

    2010/11
Blackpool - Beattie, Basham, Grandin (All undisclosed fees) - Relegated
Newcastle - Tiote, Ben Arfa, Perch (Undisclosed) - already had Prem players
West Brom - Myhill, Shorey, Odemywinge (7 million) - saved by Hodgson

    2009/10
Burnley - Fletcher, Bikey, Mears (7 million) - Where are they now!
Birmingham - Dann, Johnson, Benitez, Hart (11 million) Where are they now - Club and Players!
Wolves - Doyle, Milijas, Zubar, Surman (17m in total) - scraped in

    Not really proven!

Was just tyring to demonstrate the fact that there is money to be spent and if we want to compete in this league we need to spend money. Fair enough not proven but our squad needs strengthening and if we dont spend, we'll be straight back down, now you have to admit that is true SW Ranger?

I guess there's no guarantees either PW. Spend large amounts of transfer money on players and high wages only to go down and be stuck with even more debt?
I'm not happy with it, but I kinda can see where the board is coming from. Reign in spending, reduce and eliminate debt with premiership money, get payback for money spent getting the club to the Premiership; do deals with players with no transfer fee so they can move on easily if we get relegated e.g. Bothroyd (and not be stuck with a Bullard situation). Putting us on a far better financial footing over the next 3 years. It's not a pretty strategy for a football fan! But then... they're not football fans, they're businessmen!

If you think about it we've actually spent more money on compensation to ex-managers over the past few years than will spend on trying to keep a team within the Prem.

In fact if you think about it more we'll probably spend more on toilet rolls than strengthening the squad.

SURELY this means a sale must happen soon?

I run QPR better in Championship Manager.

I wouldn't be surprised to see NW "snap" and walk before the season starts. He looked totally gutted in that interview about the Tarrabt sale.

For Franckster and SW Ranger to suggest the owners are using the income from various sources to strengthen the club is pure fantasy at this stage. People operating in such a noble manner either make public their intentions or others make it clear on their behalf. To date we have heard nothing of the kind from any source whatsoever and as such have every reason to suspect the additional income is earmarked for the benefit of the owners and not for the club.

The owners disinterest in football and/or QPR and their failure to communicate their intentions, adds weight to the notion of an asset stripping objective. The onus is on them to deny this and the fact they haven't speaks volumes imho...

Brixton.....I didnt say the owners are using it to strengthen the club.....I said they are probably using it to cover some of the debt to make QPR seem more attractive, thus making them more money, so it benefits them more when they sell.

Not putting it into playing staff to strengthen the club.

They cant put the Adel money into their own pockets.....pretty sure thats illegal, so im sure putting it in the bank so the books look better, makes them more money in the long run.

Franckster: Apologies if I misunderstand you but using the income to cover the club's debts would be a good thing and therefore strengthens the club.

On the point about the proceeds of the Taarabt sale (or other means of income), a 'decent' accountant would be in place to take care of the legalities - you know that!
