"I love players who can make the difference at the top end." Rodgers

I think we have struggled with these sort of signings in the past, players with good movement, skill and pace

I'm optimistic about our future, some very promising signs lastnight. We played Arsenal off the park at times and not many teams do that at the Emirates

I just wish we could get our defence WATERTIGHT AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Once Lucas gets back up to speed that will help

Great to see Carra having a great game, hope he can stay in and make a difference to us, would die to stop an opposition shot. Arsenal need a few of him in their defence, proper legend

As a lot of people noticed last night, certain players often slow down the pace of counter attacks. Coutinho could potentially be the ideal solution, a quick dribbler with good vision <ok>

Thought we played decent enough last night, shouldn't read to much in to conceding, we were decent defensively for most of the night and not many teams leave the Emirates with a clean sheet.

Was fantastic to see Carra playing like that, I know people bang on about the Skrtel/Agger partnership but neither of them get their head on the ball over and over and over again like JC

  5. I've read a bit about Coutinho and can see he likes a dribble or two but can anyone tell me how much velcro he applies to his boots? Have we got another Sturridge / Suarez type that wants to do it all on their own...?

I'm not so sure we did play them off the park but we were competitve for the first 60mins or so and our chances went in but theirs didn't. i'd have called it 50/50 up unitl lucas and gerrard tried a bit and sturridge came off.. after that it went backs to the wall ,the ball was just lost on ever clearance and we just got passed off the park.

Arsenal had a very good midfied 3 but no screen for thier back 4. they had two really good wide forwards who know were to go score. we exploited thier lack of screen and reated our chances.

All in all we did ok but i think the lesson must be that unless you can hold the ball and get yourself up the park you are at nothing. so sturridge coming off effectively ended the game for us. We never held it up again. downing was poor on the break as well... but all in all being competitive is a good thing isn't it? if we play city like that we can do well i feel... its just a fact that we didn't have the egs to keep it up for 90mins.
