Procedure to follow during rough period

This helpful factsheet is to be used by LFC ‘fans’ when we go through the inevitable rough patch with our new manager and / or players. Use this simple guide to stop and think before posting ill informed knee jerk drivel on the internet.

1. Remember this is the beginning of a project, it will take time for the playing style and ethos of our new manager to be adopted. Give him that time, don’t criticise at the earliest convenience because “we should have gone for Rafa”. I propose 2-3yrs is a good period to take a look at how things are progressing.

2. Give new signings a chance to settle in – remember the boy Lucas

3. Don’t bore everyone with comparisons to previous teams / players, Alonso is gone and just because you have his Deacon Blue CD doesn’t mean he’s coming back.

4. The answer to the continual questioning of who a manager picks, drops and system played can be answered by the statement – “He works with the players every day, surely he knows better than us?” – Yes. Yes he does. If you ever think you have thought of a system, strategy or formation that the entire professionally qualified coaching staff at LFC haven’t thought of – you are wrong. Please refer to above statement.

5. The word fan derives from the word fanatical which by definition means “excessively enthusiastic about a particular belief, cause, or activity”. If you believe in the cause of LFC then back the manager, the players, backroom staff and grounds man. Blind faith will sometimes be required – that’s the deal.

6. KEEP CALM. CARRY ON. YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE.

hmm ... 1. brendans been here a month now , no signings and we're not playing his style
2. if we had any signings theyd be poo poo

clearly this procedure is not working. I think people are following

1. Remember this is the beginning of a project, it should take no time at all to work so if rodgers doesn't hammer spurs in the US he needs to be sacked.

2. Give new signings a right cheer but they'd better be messi day one.

3. compare EVERYONE to either messi, xavi or alonso... especially alonso.

4. Managers should know i know best and should pick my formation, this should be applied to every fan who has a different idea and the manager should use 20 formations in a game... at least..

5. blind faith is for plastics who don't pay attention. real fans barrack everyone who doesn't agree with them

6. don't be calm, react to every wum and any lfc fan with a contradictory view is worse than scum REACT!!!!

obviously this procedure makes people feel a lot better... its this or valiums from the doctor for some i think

 

Good thread but none of it will happen let's put it this way if Kenny got no leeway with certain supporters (or FSG) then expect those who moaned about Kenny after 18 months to moan about BR after 18 days without a win. He deserves time but most people won't give him much...whatever they might say now.

Tough one that, Billy.
The simplest solution would be to kill 'em but inexplicably the authorities seem to take a dim view of that.
Working on the basis that everything you do is wrong just do whatever you like and face the consequences because you'll get them no matter what.

Back to the OP, I hope BR gets the time too, but I'm afraid that unless we start with a bang and keep going like that we'll always get the same people saying we should have done this, that or the other.

On a serious note for a moment. Jakub Błaszczykowski's agent says Liverpool have made an enquiry.

2 things :

• if this is true he should keep his ****ing gob shut
• if this is true he'd be a good signing imo
