Absolutely disgusting behaviour, but I do have to say it was one hell of a shot from whoever threw it! Another half inch higher and he'd have been blinded in one eye, all in the name of 'football' - mindless ignorance in the extreme, makes me ****ing sick!

This has been building up for a couple of years - not just coin throwing but encroachment and racial abuse as well. As SAF said, what happened at the Chelsea v Man Utd game was even worse but got unreported in the fuss with Clattenburg meaning that Chelsea got away scot free on both counts. Someting needs to be done before we all end up behind fences again. Clubs cannot do anything on their own - it needs prosecutions and deterrent style punishments being handed out. For too long we have ignored the missile throwing at corner kicks and we are only talking about it now because somebody got hurt. Pitch invaders are easily identified and with the number of CCTV cameras and TV cameras at grounds it must be possible to review all footage in the following couple of days to spot, identify and prosecute anybody throwing a missile or making a racist gesture. As far as racist shouts/gestures are concerned a lot of supporters need to look at themselves. Even getting away from the fact that there are ladies and kids in the ground, how do you explain to an uneducated youngster that it is OK to join together in obscene chants referring to the personal life, history or place of origin of an opposing player/manager or OK to make obscene gestures at opposing players as long as the chant or gesture does not relate to the colour of the persons skin. There is no need for any of it - cut it out!!
They're suggesting bringing in netting at the moment, all down to a handful of idiots who can't contain themselves.
At Carrow Road very week I'm sat next to a dad with 3 kids who could easily be influenced by what's around. They are easily influenced. But fortunately the worst they have repeated is 'Cheat! Cheat! Cheat!' They are easily distracted though which is a relief as they have heard a lost worse. Goodness knows what they would hear if they weren't in the N and P!
The mob culture will prevail with a lot of people. I sit in Main stand ,and the use of the F and C word is quite common. One brassy blonde who sits fairly close is the worst offender,and no one says anything to her,me included. The majority have got to stand up and be counted,me included.
They probably hear worse in the playground at school. Lets not wrap everything up in cotton wool, most people are raised with a decent set of principles and can distinguish right from wrong. There is just that 1% that let's everyone else down every now and then unfortunately most of the time it's right in the lime light for the whole world to see and clouds people's opinions on an otherwise fairly civilised sport.
I don't understand how we suddenly have ended up with racism on the terraces again. Maybe it is the fact that when these geniuses make the monkey gestures they know that they will get a reaction and a bit of publicity. Maybe it is because there have recently been a number of high profile incidents involving international players and club accusing referees of racism. The thing I just cannot fathom is how any fan can racially abuse a player when his own team will have players of a similar race/religion/nationality. I can only imagine how poorly our black players and for that matter supporters would take any such behaviour at Carrow Road. As for the chucking of coins - for goodness sake we all love the game and feel passionately about it but attempting to maime someone by coin throwing from the stands is both despicable and cowardly. People doing this should be put in prison and banned from all grounds for life.
