That's this forum board not the SFC Board on whom I reserve judgement. I was a reluctant poster, dragged into it by my old mate Channon Walked on H2O (herafter referred to as CW). I thought the whole thing was a waste of time, and was surprised that such an intelligent guy would waste his time with such garbage. He started quoting his virtual co0ntacts to me, which I found a bit unsettling, but once he'd actually persuaded me to read some of the stuff, I joined him. We had been close mates since 1971, when we'd bumped into one another on a tube train coming back from White Hart Lane (1-0 Gilzean). By bizarre coincidence we both ended up in Liverpool and our shared love of the city was one of many things we had in common. Our wives became close friends and the 4 of us shared a great friendship, and one of the things that CW and I really enjoyed was reading this forum and making occasional comments. A number of times we composed stuff that couldn't see the light of day, but it was always a laugh. You may have noticed that CW posts no more. Not even his powers of persuasion could keep away the grim reaper. I've posted a few times since then, but the laugh has gone, and it now seems daft. frankly. When he was ill, CW asked me to tell people on this board what a good time he'd had reading the comments and the responses he had to his own contributions. His family asked me to eave a decent interval before I did so. Posting now, I satisfy both wishes. So, it's goodnight from him and goodnight from me. You're all a great bunch and I've enjoyed my brief sojourn. We once discussed whether we should name favourite posters, but decided against it fr fear of causing unintended offence. So you're all brilliant. UTS
Thank you for letting us know Lambo. How sad to wave goodbye to another, but I'm sure he'll be up there chatting with Bobby Stokes about whether that really was offside! It's a really enjoyable community of people here and you're absolutely one of them Lambo. Take care of yourself and I'll certainly be raising a glass to CW later.
I'm so sorry to hear the sad news Lambo. I too will raise a glass to CW's memory before the Newcastle game. RIP Channon Walks on H2O
Thanks for letting us know this very sad news Lambo. I enjoyed Channon's posts and also that he loved Liverpool, my own fav away city. Rest easy Channon - help my old man, who also passed away last year, to keep the ball out of our net when the mighty Saints are defending for their lives.
Really sad news and sorry to hear it. I hope there is a soccer forum up in heaven and that it has all the old saints stalwarts posting on it which he can join. If not then I am going to refuse to die. PS CW can tell Markus that his daughter is doing a good job all things considered and that we have all taken to her.
Really sorry to hear that you have lost such a good friend, Lambo, and thank you for letting us all know.
That's a shock, I always enjoyed reading posts from CW he always seemed witty and perceptive, great loss when he left the forum. RIP
Such sad news. Very sorry to hear that. May he rest in peace. I would like to second the point that everyone on here are a really good bunch and make posting good fun.
Sorry, I meant to press "Thanks" for the post instead of "Like" Yes CW will be missed for sure, for his insightful, intelligent offerings, I hope that you will continue posting Lambo..... RIP Channon Walked on H2O ....
Nothing I can add to that which has already been said. So sorry to hear about CW. I've been a lurker for many years whilst working overseas and always enjoyed the posts - helped me feel closer to home. We'll miss both of you - keep well and good luck. I lost someone very close to me 2 years ago and am just about coming to terms with it now.
I occasionally wonder if the worst has happened when a member posts no more. CwoH2O will be the 3rd person who I know who has never returned to a forum for that reason. Even though I known them only through forum pages, I still find it upsetting. RIP to CW, and thanks for sharing your news with us. If you are to leave then it was nice to share opinions with you, and so cheerio. But remember, we shall always be here. Pop by once in a while and catch up. Cheers TSS
