The most popular horse in training and living legend attempts to win her 14th Group 1 tomorrow.

Going to keep this short and sweet.

Looked through the form of the others and i cant see any piece of form to get close Goldy. That is unless time has finally caught up with her.

Can anyone offer a compelling argument for any of the others?

"The most popular horse in training"

Maybe in France she is. I would say the Big F takes that honour in Britain now, certainly on the flat - probably Big Bucks the most popular of all at the moment <ok>

Yes she should win this tommorow, not interested at 1/2 though.

Don't understand all this legend and everyone favourite horse tosh, she's a good consistent fillie, she is no legend, legends dont get easily delt with like Goldikova has been by CC, Makfi and Zarkava with no excuses, off to the BC after this to win that mickey mouse race

Fillies and mares will generally be more popular than colts due to the longevity of their racing careers.
    Eg Miesque,Dahlia,Pebbles,Triptych etc etc

In terms of popularity my opinion would be that the jumpers would be far, far more popular due to their longevity...

In fact if Kauto Star didn't top a poll of the most popular horse in training (or even the last 5 years) I'd be massively, massively surprised <ok> Denman, Monet's Garden, Big Bucks all immediately spring to mind as being more popular than Goldikova. I could list about a dozen NH horses that would.

She will win tomorrow but it's hardly bet of the century at that price.

Shergar, sometimes i think that you live in disney land . Goldy is well liked both sides of the Atlantic, even if she does not win at the BC this year she will still get a standing applause from the racing public around the globe, great horse horse ledgends are not just made at Ascot ,York etc.
If a horse can win a g1 its good if it wins several its exceptional but to win double figure G1's it has to be great.
What will you call the racing in North America, if one of your favourite horses wins over here, i doubt it will be " Mickey Mouse Racing" then.
What is your opinion about the the racing at Goodwood this week. Micky mouse or the best.
Goldie to win on Sunday and at the Breeders and if she does not well thats just to bad,but i know that she will try her hardest to win and thats all a person can ask for. And then she can retire knowing that she is one of the best mares ever to race . Good luck Goldie

Islanderpei...As I have stated many times before Goldikova is a well above average G1 horse, she is top notch, but there is no way she is great, nor is she a legend. She has only won so many G1s, because she has had the opportunity to compete in them, had proven superior horse's like Makfi, Zarkava and Canford Cliffs had the opportunity to compete in the exact same calibre and number of G1 races as Goldikova then I'm sure they would have better hauls if not equal hauls. Had Goldikova conquered all at 3 like her superior Zarkava she would have been off to stud, but the fact remains she wasn't good enough at 3 to command a high bedding fee, that's the only reason she has won so many races. If Zarkava and Goldikova both met in there ultimate primes even over a mile, everyone knows Zarkava would piss all over her again, just as Makfi and Canford Cliffs have.

What is everyones opinion if her and Frankel faced off? Well I think you all know what the result would be, and it wouldnt even be competitive, Frankel is a great horse a horse that makes you say wow he is good, Goldikova isn't.

As for the comic racing in the USA, get real the standard of turf racing over there is G3 level, and that's being generous, you guys realy think the likesof Debussy and Dangerous Midge are genuine G1 horses in the UK? get real. It might aswell be cartoon racing over there thats how pathetic it is, and the fact Goldikova is called great for winning 3 pissy races against G3 level horse's is beyond me. Come on guys deep down you know im right

Makfi - raced in four G1s, well beaten in two of those
Goldikova - winner of 13 G1s (10 of which aren't at the Breeder's Cup which you deride so much)
Yeah I can see how the former is a great, but the latter isn't!

No we know you're the only person pretty much who doesn't acknowledge Goldikova's greatness. And if you asked me who I prefer between Zarkava and Goldikova, it wouldn't even be a contest. There's more to a horse than...oh why am I bothering? Carry on living in your fantasy world.

I hope she wins today anyway, and if she runs to the form of her two races so far this year she should win with a bit in hand.

    Well done Goldikova.
Sad that some people think a mare who has won so many G1 in Europe and the USA against the majority of the top milers of her generation can't be called great. What else is she to do, give the others a 100yard start?

Does that give her more g1 winners now than CC, MAFKI and ZARKAVA combined.
A great horse is measured on the track not in the breeding barn

She had won than the three combined before she stepped onto the racecourse this year
    Zarkava - 5x G1, Canford Cliffs 5 x G1, Makfi 2 x G1
    Goldikova now has 14 x G1
