Pathetic. Not a decent British or Irish stayer amongst them.

There were a lot of Anglo-Irish entries in the original list, including Aaim To Prosper, Repeater, Colour Vision, Lost In The Moment, Royal Empire, No Heretic, Rite Of Passage, Well Sharp and Tiger Cliff.

I guess they are all preferring the stayers’ race on Champions’ Day.

I’ve always thought that High Jinx when he gets his ground is a very useful stayer. Was 2nd in this race last term whilst he was a very promising runner-up last time after 3.5 months on the sidelines.

Another reason this race might be losing some of its appeal is the huge prizemoney increase given to the Cesarawitch this year. Up from £160k to £250k this time around.

My friend won't thank you for that - she rides TAC DE BOISTRON every day at Marco's and is taking him over for the race ;)

No idea what they expect from him but she's thrilled to be going to Paris for the weekend!

Here is a brief synopsis of the form gleaned from the France Galop website:

Tac De Boistron (10 Apr 07) - one win from two races this season, latest won Listed race at Chester (2450m), previously third Listed race at Goodwood (2800m).
Achtung (SPA) (18 Apr 2008) - no wins from five races this season, latest unplaced at San Sebastian (2800m), previously third at Madrid (2400m).
Seismos (IRE) (26 Apr 08) - one win from five races this season, latest second in Gp1 at Baden Baden (2400m), previously won in Gp1 at Munich-Riem (2400m).
Altano (GER) (31 Jan 06) - one win from four races this season, latest unplaced in Gp3 at Dortmund (2800m), previously won in Gp3 at Hoppegarten (3200m).
Chabal'Ozor (5 Feb 09) - two wins from eleven flat races this season, latest won handicap at Pompadour (2300m), previously won minor event at Pompadour (2200m).
Times Up (GB) (10 May 06) - one win from four races this season, latest won in Gp2 at Doncaster (3600m), previously third in Gp2 at York (3300m).
Coralhasi (2 Apr 02) - no wins from three flat races this season, latest second at La Teste Buch (3000m), previously fourth handicap at Clairefontaine (3400m).
Les Beaufs (24 Apr 09) - one win from five races this season, latest second in Gp3 at Longchamp (3100m), previously won Listed race at Saint Cloud (3100m).
High Jinx (IRE) (4 Feb 08) - no wins from two races this season, latest second in Gp2 at Doncaster (3600m), previously fourth in Gp3 at Sandown (3300m).
Gloomy Sunday (20 Apr 09) - one win from three races this season, latest fourth in Gp2 at Deauville (3000m), previously won in Gp3 at Sandown (3300m).

This looks the usual nightmare as there is no way of telling how the race will be run. It is interesting that Prix Gladiateur runner-up Les Beaufs is not being re-opposed by the winner that day, Domeside, who was entered but was withdrawn. This looks a great opportunity for a Group 1 for Times Up if the race is run to suit.
