Have just been reading an interview with the Prince in today's Sunday Post. It's not on-line, so I thought I'd post some of it here. The interview was prompted by the announcement that Garry Kenneth, a defender with Dundee United, intends leaving to play in England at the end of this season & the reporter asked Prince for his thoughts on whether or not it would be a good move for him. To quote: Buaben turned his back on Tannadice for Watford in July and has no regrets, saying " Garry would fit in well in the Championship....he's strong, quick for a big guy and technically good on the ball......I can understand it's difficult for supporters of Scottish clubs to hear these things, but everyone wants to play in England. I was the same, I wanted to work as hard as I could to get to the Premier League and at Watford, I'm one step closer." "The Championship is one of the toughest leagues in the world....not everyone gets a chance to play here. You need luck and somebody to believe in you. Thankfully, I've enjoyed both at Watford. It took time to adapt, but my manager gave me the confidence to to stay positive. You must get used to palying twice a week at a relentless intensity, the pace is quick but you've no option but to adapt. You have to be tough in Scotland but the levels of fitness are at another level down here. There's very little between the teams and you have to be ready to battle in every match. There are no off-days." Buaben had various options open to him but is glad he hung his hat on The Hornets. "I still look for United's results before anyone else, of course, but I'm really enjoying it here. Watford have a reputation for developing good youngsters and they want to play the right way. It's the perfect fit for me." Nothing we didn't know there - but I'm wondering if he can put in a good word for us with Garry Kenneth - would be a useful acquisition IMO. With our luck, MM has probably already tapped him up.
Interesting piece and hopefully might get Kenneth , Cardiff might be in the prem so might be chasing bigger fish!
