So, a much better game football wise than against Millwall, Bielsa's tongue lashings obviously work. First half was much better than second, but second half wasn't bad, can't have been cos we scored 2 goals. I predicted 3-0 to us, and thanks to Roberts 2 goals my prediction came true, for a change. Thanks for the applause but sit down, I ain't finished yet. Speaking of Roberts, thrilled for him he got 2 goals, and some are saying don't write him off just yet, others are saying he should be our number 1 striker. Personally, it's a no to both statements. Roberts is only 19, not quite ready for continual big time football just yet, but the Preston game showed his potential, however, we should hold the reins back a bit as we've seen this before with the likes of Lasogga, and Roofe last season. I think breaking him into big time football should be done slowly and realistically for his own good and development. A few people have a go at Alioski, and Doc said Douglas must be getting frustrated with Alioski, I do, in general, ask the question why, when by all counts, it should be the other way around. Douglas is the defender, Alioski is the attacking mid / winger, it's Douglas's job to feed and send Alioski on runs. Douglas is not in sync with Alioski, nor has he created a repore with his winger yet, it may or may not come in time, but at moment it's not there. Alioski may well be the one getting frustrated as he was eventually all over the pitch going after, and going looking for ball. I read "followmeandleedsunited's" comments on the game, and saw this bit written by her, "As Alioski went through on goal towards the South Stand, he was goal ward bound when the linesman in front of the West Stand saw a lone player there and stuck his flag up late, just as Alioski sent a great ball into the bottom of the net. When fans keep complaining about him being offside, I think they need to take into account the amount of times the linesman haven’t a clue. Alioski was running all over the pitch and some of the balls he got to, he didn’t have a right to get to them. One of them being when he raced over to the West Stand side and got the ball right on the line before playing a great pass to one of our players" 2020 mentioned Saiz probably didn't pass to Alioski cos he wasn't having a good game, I'd say it was more that Saiz very rarely passes to a player with an opposing player so close to him. Thing about Alioski having a permanent opposing shadow means the opposing defense is spread wider, which leaves gaps in the middle of their defence, we saw examples of this with Klich's runs through the defence to shoot on a couple of occasions; that's probably one of reasons they call Klich the penetrator. All up a good game to watch, and we got back to playing our better style of football. By halfway through season, we should have most players in sync with each other. I've mentioned it before, for whatever circumstances, when we bring in newer players to team we upset the applecart, we saw that against Millwall, chances are it will happen in future as well with injuries and what not; as we all now know, Bielsa is reluctant to change a winning team. On Alioski, you may be right. When both Pablo and Sais are playing he gets better service. I like Alioski, I just thought he was not very effective in this game. He seemed to be rushing decisions when he did get the ball, like he felt under pressure to perform. anyway, onwards and upwards. Bet Monk is looking forward to returning to the club he was too good for, should be an easy win for him.
Yes they are good, thanks for posting. Just watch out in case he slips in a far right conspiracy video in the middle
