Worst game I ever saw at Ninian Park was a 0-4 home defeat against Preston, hardly any crowd, and it pissed down all of the game. Never felt lower, (Doris wasn't about then).... Then there was that game: Preston 6-0 Preston revived their play-off hopes as Alan Irvine's side comprehensively beat Cardiff City 6-0 to end the Welshmen's Championship automatic promotion bid. Neil Mellor's 11th of the season opened rout, guiding in Jon Parkin's flick before Paul McKenna's deflected strike. Preston keeper Andy Lonergan saved a Ross McCormack penalty on the stroke of half-time after Jones fouled Ledley. Jon Parkin's shot and a Mark Kennedy own goal sealed a win before Chris Brown and Lee Williamson's late goals. I also remember the 2-2 draw at home, Robbie Fowler scoring both goals, with Calum Davidson scoring a late equaliser. Tonight we should win 1-0 hopefully fugging pals!

ah, a match thread. Not one on Saturday. Big game tonight and seem to have started brightly. Interesting line up. Whitts seemed to make a difference when he came on at Norwich. Richards and Connolly benched. Don't know if that is a good thing as we've got strength in depth and Trollope can ring the changes (important with 3 games in 8 days) or a feeling of panic and not knowing your best side. We'll see. Just need an early goal to settle the nerves.

I really find it hard to believe there was anything worse than Slade. Bathes his period in charge in a lovely afterglow of righteous 4-4-2 and mind numbing football. At least we nearly got to the Playoffs!

Nearly made the playoffs indeed. I'm no Slade fan but this is a disaster. We're looking hard for 3 worse teams, one of the contenders is beating us 2-0 and has hit a post. Our 'manager' is currently swapping through formations like a 9 year old playing FIFA. If he sees a significant percentage of this season out we'll be lucky to stay up from what I've seen so far. If we're this clueless against Leeds we should accept we've totally ****ed up this appointment and start looking at who's available. We're not the Geordies but our squad is much better than this. Slade proved it last season.
Baffling decision to sell Moore. A shocking level of mismanagement at this sort of level. Sums up the way the club has been run since we made it to the Prem. I doubt he's going to sack Trollope as that would cost money. Even then I wouldn't trust the management to put someone in charge who would actually save us. It would only get worse. We're ****ed.
I beg to differ Stevo. We have been deluding ourselves for the last 2 seasons in terms of how good our squad is. It clearly is not. We managed a half decent position last season because Slade, possibly with Trollope's help organised a good defence. That is now gone. It shows how much we relied on Marshie. We are stuck with this lot until January. And even longer if Tan does nothing to protect his investment. This is going to be a terrible season. By the way, what is Huws for? He has no pace, no great skill, can't beat a player, is not a tackler and not a great passer. He says he is a box to box player. Must be in fitness training as he doesn't do it in matches. Not looking forward to Leeds on Saturday. P.S. Warnock anyone?
Lose Saturday & he has to go; that would be 4 on the spin. Tan has to realise he's dropped a goolie and look to bring in an experienced old hand. Slade has his critics but he nearly got us to the play off's. Can someone explain what Lawrence does? He makes Scott Young looks good. If Trollop is to stay then he's got to play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and just ditch this 5-3-2 nonsense.
I'm not saying we're a great squad, we're just not as bad as Trollope is making us. 5-3-2 has to go and I'd love to see warnock given a year.
