Not sure, but i know Phil Brown agreed to where one of the hats if they won today.... Think they call it somethink like Gentry day or something along those lines. Maybe post on Preston board for more info.
The bowler hats were bought in order to support a charity. The dressing up was a tribute to this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT2iP5Si-Ho
A load of them wandering around Howden absolutely battered at around 11am yesterday, really showing themselves up.
I was told it was something to do with Alan Ball, Sr. He described their fans as Gentleman at his time there and obviously it went to their heads. As such once a year on this day...
Someone posted a link on here re the charity thing. The Preston gentlemen I bumped into gave me one of their bowler hats. So for me, gentlemen indeed. Good support for a team on its way to relegation, fair play to them lads.
I went to the game a pal who's a Preston fan so went in the Preston end . I thought there supporters were a credit to their club, they may be struggling but have kept the faith and gave all for the team, funny chants too, my favourite was 'Lets pretend lets pretend, lets pretend wev'e scored a goal followed by a massive cheer.
"Phil Brown joins the Gentry"? looks more like a demented Mr. Ben in that pic But all power to PNE for this idea
